Talk is for losers. Show it on the field.
We sound like fans of a perennially losing team with articles like this one.
It is embarrassing for a 4-12 team to talk like this.
I will say this is the first time in a LONG time that the Sirius talking heads are giving the Skins a ton of love. Not off-season champions type mocking, but real respect to the organization for handling themselves like an elite group. I like that!

Unfortunately we kinda are. We haven't won much of anything in a long time.

Too soon to tell, but we shouldn't be ranked last anymore.

For Adam "I love the Giants and for some reason have a huge man crush on Romo" Schien to give the Redskins any love, we must have done something right. He has hated on us for so long. I am kinda shocked at how he has turned his opinion in the Redskins. God he hated on us so much I honestly quit listening to his show. Now I am a huge FAN OF T-Rock and Patty Kerwin. Those two guys have always brought it in a much different fashion. Much love for Moving the Chains from me.

It all starts up top with having guys like MS and BA in charge. Then adding Donovan back at Easter had more people believing. I have to say it again. The Redskins have spent a ton of time this offseason revamping this football team, and I for one know we will have something to show for it come September.

Exactly. We've been the worst for two years straight probably in the entire league. We still got question marks as mentioned above especially at Tackle. If Brown can regain form and Williams plays to his draft position, we should be fairly good. Injury at Tackle or Trent cant make the transition, we are going to have problems again. But we have done well in acquiring players and building depth so at least Allen has put us in position to even mention the headline of this thread.

Re: Could the Skins have the best offensive line in the division?

We could have the best by the end of the season or the worst again, but it will be far better than last year either way. At best 2/5 of our line is still questionable and at worst 4/5. Outside of Dockery everyone on on the line has some sort of "?" about them. Be it injury/experience/talent. I do like our odds and believe (being the homer that I am) going into the season that the weakest link is at Center followed closely by RG.

There is so much competetion at G though that I think we will be fine once the line settles into a rhythem. Between BMW/Hicks/Rhino/Ed Dub/Heyer/Cook somone is going to fit in well and help Rabach look better this year. If I was a betting man, which I am not for good reason, Heyer and BMW will battle it out for the start. If Heyer doesn't look any better moving inside he will have a battle to stay on the team with Rhino, Kory L and Eddie. With Hicks being able to play all positions, and the team stressing versatility, it will be interesting how many OL we keep.

The Dallas line though benefits from Romo's escapability, and Felix Jones speed. I would not put their line as any better than ours as it stands now. Their left OT is as shaky as ours was without Samuels, they are relying on an unproven LT in Free, and a bust LT in Barron. We have an unproven rookie, but IF he doesn't pan out we can shift JBrown over, and put Hicks back at RT, that alone is a better line than Dallas'. And Dallas has overlooked their line in the draft nearly as badly as we have.

The final question mark is Rabach. Is he good enough, and he has looked bad due to the lack of talent around him, or is he just bad. If he is bad, we will need a rookie(Cook) or 2nd year guy (williams) to step up and play.

Pessimism is natural due to our recent past, but let's not give credit to other teams without looking at their flaws.
Spot on. Free is a ??? and others are getting old. They also lack depth. I'm hoping that all of those Cowpokes Super Bowl predictions crumble as their o-line struggles.

Re: Could the Skins have the best offensive line in the division?

It's kind of a generic question. Only the coach (who knows how HIS plays are supposed to be executed) could have any idea. If I knew exactly how the plays were to run, I probably could answer the question. I am going to rely on the coach, seeing what each player can do, to determine the Skin's offensive line outcome. I'm not pessimistic. The truth is that our OL isn't ready to be compared to the other OL's in our division at all. Hell, it hasn't even been born yet!

Who is our RG? We think it will be Hicks but we don't know.

Has Brown played a down with this unit yet? No.

Has T. Williams played a down in the NFL? No. In fact, he hasn't even signed a contract yet.

Are all of the holdovers playing in a new system? Yes.

Have they played a down in that system yet? No.

Etc.

I hope they'll be good but I don't know yet. And you don't know yet, either (no offense meant). Nobody knows.

I hope we do but only time and the wear and tear of the season will tell.

Re: Could the Skins have the best offensive line in the division?

The title of the article was sent to the editor with the following title:

"Stop me if you've heard this one, but....Someone thinks The Redskins have the best Offensive Line in the NFC East"

Naturally the editor deleted the first eight words and sent it to print.

Time will tell. The system being deployed requires a lot of repetition, if they remain healthy and be able to consistently extend those reps, they could eventually develop into a formidable o/line. It's much too soon to anoint them anything other than a work in progress at this point.

The other thing about the system is that it makes the lineman look better then they really are. In Madden terms, for lack of a better example, you could possibly add 4 or 5 points to a players rating.

I think our FO has saw a weakness and brought people in to compete.
