On a positive note, a lot of times doctors will miss stuff like this, and its good that they caught it now. A lot of situations such as this turn out to be very tragic. But man, that's a big loss.

Re: Mike Williams out for season? (rumor)
I was definitely a Big Mike supporter. At this point I just hope the doctors and he can keep it from being serious.
Line wise, I think this isn't as big a deal. Just means the competition will be that much more aggressive. |

That's a serious issue for a football player, I've been there. Hope big Mike can recover, not so much for his football career but just his overall health. I have considered him a true success story after what he went through to get back on track.

Re: Mike Williams out for season? (rumor)
*Grimace* Here we go again... The season hasn't even started yet and we are off on the same foot. Losing starting O-lineman, plugging in stop-gaps. I just hope over the next few years we continue to focus on bringing in young top tier o-lineman.
I do understand that this is a medical condition, not an injury, but I do wonder if being 30 and grossly over weight for years didn't bring about this condition. It's almost a metaphor for the problems on our O-line year in and out. Neglect and age will never add up to success, or the ability to remain healthy in the trenches in the NFL. Get well soon BMW.

As a Deadliest Catch fan, this is exactly right and this is what killed Phil Harris this past winter.

Re: Mike Williams out for season? (rumor)
I do hope BigMike makes a speedy recovering... not so he can play football again for us this year, just so he can live a somewhat normal life. Good luck big guy.
Now as a fan this does hurt our depth, but it also opens the door to some of our young guys getting a shot to make the team. Some one will have to step up, or maybe this opens the door for signing a veteran gaurd as a beckup, I am sure there are a couple out there who we could call. Then again there are always camp cuts as well.

Re: Mike Williams out for season? (rumor)
That's pretty sad, his career in the NFL is over. I hope he can recover so that he can lead a normal life. It's a shame, a classy guy all around.

Re: Mike Williams out for season? (rumor)
This is why players have to realize how lucky they are I wish I had the talent they have. BMW didn't realize when he was here the first time how much he loved & had to work at it, then comes back commits 110% then this happens.

Re: Mike Williams out for season? (rumor)
Damn that sucks. I hope he gets it handled and gets better soon, but it sounds like his football career is over anyways because it's just not worth the risk with that type of medical problem.
It's sad to hear that this happened to BMW after all the work he put in trying to get back on the field and everybody sounded promising when talking about how he'd play this season. So get well soon BMW and here's to you succeeding in whatever you do once this medical problem gets resolved. |

Re: Mike Williams out for season? (rumor)
I think the o-line will be ok. Williams needs to stay active though, somehow. Why not play football?

Re: Mike Williams out for season? (rumor)
Stinks for Mike good effort on trying to make this comeback. Wish him the best in whatever he chooses to do. Most of the time however, these comeback projects don't work out to well.
Different circumstances but does take me back to the Erasmus James, 1st round bust project in 08 that had a bad ending after only a handful of games. Good luck Mike.
