Greenberg did say that the CBA uncertainty is playing a factor in everything, but they weren't saying draft picks had not signed due to CBA uncertainty.
didn't they also say that the CBA is impacting the rookies because the owners are wary about guaranteeing money in the 2nd year of a deal for a season that won't take place?

That was more in reference to Polian's comments about Manning's contract situation.

Re: Allen believes TW will sign on time

NFL Exec VP Jeff Pash was on Mike and Mike this morning and he did imply that part of the reason no first round draft picks have signed was CBA uncertainty which is affecting all NFL business. But picks should start getting signed very shortly.

On Geico Sportnite yesterday, they showed a clip of Allen saying he felt confident, and off screen TW shouted to Allen that TW promised he would be in on time, and then Allen laughed and said, very confidently, that TW would be in. It was a good clip to see.

They were discussing it again this morning on M&M. The word "collusion" in regards to owners was thrown around, but of course, by the NFLPA's rep.

Was Trent and Bruce both on the show? I wish I was back up north sometimes just to get the local raio and TV progams.

You realize the players are the ones who were just fine with it as is, right? They were 100% ready, willing and able to 'just shut the **** up, cash their checks and play football' as you put it. The owners pulled the carpet out by opting out of the CBA and requesting over $1 billion back from the players. The owners are the bad guys this time.

Re: Allen believes TW will sign on time

I would like to think this will get done with no greed hold ups. For the record I think it will, I think Williams will sign and be in camp on time. Even if it comes to the last tick on the clock before July 29 the deal gets done.

Are they really? It's clear a rookie wage scale needs to be implemented for owners to stay afloat. When a rookie gets $50 million with a ton of guaranteed money and established players make a fraction of that...something is VERY wrong. Owners are getting burned by draft busts and Pro Bowlers are getting angry because they're not getting paid for real results.

I believe a new CBA must be agreed upon to make any changes like this.

I have no doubts they'll get something done, they realize the NFL is the biggest thing in the world and saw how the NHL and MLB have suffered long-term damage from strikes. If there is a lockout, EVERYONE loses.

I've heard some players speak in favor of a rookie wage scale. That issue alone won't cause a walkout/lockout. Percentage of revenues dedicated to player salaries seems like a much stickier issue.

No, they were interviewing Bruce in a hallway, and someone, supposedly TW, shouted from off the screen, "I promised you ", and Bruce got a goofy smile and said confidently "we will get it done".

Was obviously unscripted, and showed a real good atmosphere at the park. Kinda like last year(2 years ago?) when Portis was giving an interview and another Hurricane walked by. Just really made it seem like everyone's on the same page.
