Re: Albert Haynesworths Brother Killed in Motorcycle Crash

So back to Haynesworth...it's not looking like he'll play on Sunday as of right now. He's not with the team (back in Nashville). It's possible though he'll return for the game (sure Snyder will fly him up in his jet) and then head back down next week for the funeral.

Not to mention that weaving through trafic on a bike at 100 MPH is beyond stupid, it's downright suicidal. It is fortunate that nobody else was killed.

I don't get why people ride motorcycles, they just serve to increase the odds that you're going to die, even sometimes by no fault of your own. In this case, it was a moron going 100 mph, so he has nobody to blame but himself.

I figured I've made these points enough on these boards for people to not even need to hear from me, hence my post. I just don't understand why anybody would ever ride one.
REALLY tough for the Haynesworth family......My prayers definately go out to the family.

I think you have it...You do not understand

agree...you get on one and realize how much fun it is...as long as your being safe. Id like to eventually get one

People in cars driving 100+ miles per hour, weaving in and out of traffic siginicantly more dangerous to anyone doing that on a bike...

First if he wants not to play its completely understandable and he shouldnt take any flak for that from anyone...hell even several weeks. Its aweful Albert has to go through losing a family member.

But I said that sometimes situations like this will shake a person to the core, and it may inspire him. Plus to keep your mind off of it. If he does play 90,000+ people at the stadium will have his back for sure.

if paralysis of an innocent is significantly more dangerous than death to the reckless, i guess so.

Going that fast is dangerous no matter how you cut it, indeed. No argument from me on that, nobody should ever go that fast (and if you do I'll try to block you )

But my beef with motorcycles is the rider who's following the law and being completely safe. Compared to a car who is also following the law and being completely safe, the motorcycle rider is at much greater risk of death than the driver of a car (and insurance premiums reflect this). Reason is that a safe car driver who gets clipped by some idiot who didn't check his mirror before changing lanes, that driver may get hurt. But there's a car around them to protect them in a crash, complete with crumple zones, air bags, and sometimes side curtain air bags. The motorcycle rider has nothing but a helmet (maybe, don't get me started) and a leather jacket. The rider easily can be killed in a simple accident that the driver of a car walks away from with a stiff neck.

If you can't find another way to have fun and get your thrills, I find that sad.

In other words, you can be as safe as possible, but you still can't control what other idiots on the road may do. Every time you go out on the road you're at the mercy of all the other drivers around you. It makes sense to surround yourself with a machine that can protect you from said idiots.

If I had to guess the thing that probably hurts AH the most is more than likely his money paid for that bike.

Getting in any vehicle is the most dangerous thing we do everyday. Yes I worry about other idoits on the road. And yes your logic to protect yourself from these people buy a safe car, hell make it a volvo. But to say someone is sad because they chose to ride a bike? That's simply lame...also to stereotype them as risk takers or bad drivers...millions enjoy them everyday safely with a helmet, they're not risk takers and in most cases just as safe as any other drivers on the road

We do stuff every day that makes it more dangerous to live. Leaving your house is way more dangerous than staying in it. No reason to become a shut-in.
