Re: Interesting stat, you interpret

To follow up on my post on the Titans/Cowboys game... the Skins had 1 INT on a last second Hail Mary, that really doesn't count in my book, and the Packers had 1 INT, 1 Fumble lost and to me the 4th down stop at the 1 yard line counts as a turnover in my book. So the Skins were +1 in turnovers, but the 4th down stop makes them +2 based on how I count. Forget yards, unless the turnover ratio is even.

That Hail Mary INT could have been deadly though, run back 64 yards and TW got hurt on the play

Probably a combination of both. Landry is closer to the LOS so he stops the run or rushes the QB. The LB's also stop the run but are being requried to shadow the TE. I think a lot of teams are not being able to throw the long ball on us often so they check down a lot to the TE's. Hall gets a lot because he covers the opponants main WR a lot. Then there is the zone coverage which Landry and the LB's would be closing on the ball.

When you only have 3 players on the DL taking up space against 4 or 5 OL RB's will find a hole. So don't look to the DL to be making a lot of tackles.

Tell me your heart wasn't in your throat on that return. I hope next time in a similar situation they'll just have McNabb take a knee.

I think when you're given an opportunity to win the game you have to take it. Any penalty there gives us a high percentage chance to kick a winning field goal.

That was such an idiotic play. And basically he threw it into a whole bunch of Green Bay players, there were no Redskins within 5-10 yards of where the ball landed.

The Hail Mary is soooo used up! I would love to have some stats on the percentages in the last 10 years or so that it has worked, verses incompleted, verses INT. I think its kind of a waste. I don't think I ever seen a pass interference called on a Hail Mary when you have 5-7 guys jumping for a ball, its just not going to get called. It just makes your QB's rating go down.

PI rarely gets called on a Hail Mary. A defender would have to just totally wipe out a WR to get called. If Green Bay took that back for a score it would have been a total disaster.

I think it was Bill Parcells that said it best, the #1 defense in the NFL is the defense that gave up the least amount of points...

False. Just not based in reality.

We have held Dallas, Eagles, and GB to one TD so thats why they have so many tackles. Tackles don't count in the end zone.

Firstdown, you just said it all about the Redskin's defense. One TD given up to Dallas, Philly and the Packers. That's what works.
