Re: Graham Gano has to Go !!
This is a horrible thread as Gano has been one of our more consistent performers this year, especially on kickoffs.
He's been below average on field goals, but he's hitting close to 70% on the year. That's not particularly great, but if you think field goal are supposed to be a 100% proposition, then you wouldn't need an offense to get into the end zone ever. Luckily, we don't, no matter how many times we're allowed to start at the 50 yard line.

Re: Graham Gano has to Go !!
The wind was swirling pretty good out there today. I'd stick with him.

Where is Schneed with his "retarded thread" post?

Re: Graham Gano has to Go !!
Sure, bring back Suisham. C'mon!! This guy is good, he's not perfect, he's better than any kicker we've had for a while or is available. Quick, sign John Carney, maybe Gary Anderson, Morten Andersen or Chip Lohmiller.

Re: Graham Gano has to Go !!
Gano has been good on kickoffs. Pretty average with kicking field goals. Clutch kicking has been shaky. Id say we could improve this position, but there is noone out there worth grabbing now. Stick with him this season, coach him up and see if it improves.

Re: Graham Gano has to Go !!
in my opinion the LS has been pushing the snaps left each time and it's been hard for a holder, even as experienced as hunter, to corral them bad boys.

Re: Graham Gano has to Go !!
I mean, I don' think Gano has been great by any stretch...but on one of those misses (maybe two) the kick was blocked... Overall, I still feel alot more comfortable with him than Suisham... could the position be upgraded? Sure... but until he misses a close field goal that costs us a game, or a number of long ones that do... I'm thinking he's our best bet.

Exactly. This is very easy to forget. In addition to that, he had a FG taken off the board this year when the Skins benefitted from a penalty. So his performance is much better than his stats indicate, particularly when you consider the snap-and-hold problems the Skins have had all year. Regardless, this thread is as stupid as it is predictable. Every time a kicker misses an important field goal, you can rest assured that there will be a thread promoting his immediate termination from the team, with the underlying assumption that there's a reservoir of countless perfect kickers out there just waiting for a team to pick them up. No one should make a comment that a kicker should be cut without suggesting who should take his place. |

Re: Graham Gano has to Go !!
Remeber Gano played in some rough wind yesterday, not excusing the miss, but he didn't shank it. Had there not been any wind it wouldve went in and we win 20-14 and there's no thread. A win is a win no matter how you look at it.

The simple fact that Shanny will put him out there to kick over 50 yards says a lot. |

Re: Graham Gano has to Go !!
Getting rid of Gano, would be catastrophically stupid!
Thank god we have Shanny making the decisions and not Warpath GM's. Do we really want a David Akers part deux? I didn't think so...
