While I agree that they need more help up front, their real problem in my opinion is not lack of talent, it's lack of discipline. Now I don't know if it's purely undisciplined and people are held unaccountable on the field but also at the team facilities (like it was here with VC)

Dallas's problems are not all coaching, some of their star players have to perform better. Someone has to be the fall guy for their miserable season, may as well be Phillips. Losing Romo didn't do much to help them either.

Yeah I don't like this. I wanted Wade to stay, he has more talent wasting to do.

Miles? Interesting

Talk around here is Gruden's not interested in coaching anywhere for at least another year.

I think that he has similar mindset problems to Vinnie, even tho' he does seem to be better with talent acquisition (although TO and RW trade argue that some of the talent came from BP). What I mean by that, is he encourages breaking/undermining the chain of leadership on the football field, he has really ignored the importance of the OL, and he gets enamored with mega-talent (again the RW trade and picking DB this year even DB will be a thorn for years to come, he is not what the Cowboys needed with their first pick).

I made the argument before, but there is a fundamental problem when the owner is also the GM. The roles almost by necessity require two polar opposite views, and that is what keeps a lot of teams, and the best teams in balance.

That will make for an interesting year if there's a lockout. In general it will be interesting to see how teams handle hiring coaches w/a lockout looming. Seems tough to drop loads of money on a coach when you're not sure if you'll have games to bring in revenue. On the other hand everyone might need a tough coach to get their scabs in line!

If they were smart they would go after Jim Harbaugh, but they would have to wait till the college season is over.

JJ won't change from his ways because of the 3 rings he got with his hand in the cookie jar. He thinks his method will work for him again, but FA won't allow teams to be built that way anymore.
