I expect the Skins are going to be pretty aggressive in free agency. They're set up well to do so, cap-wise.

I am eager to see how aggressive they will be & what that means; will they be aggressive in going after a few guys? big-money guys? We'll learn a lot about Allen & Shan this offseason. I expect the team to sign a no. of mid range starters rather than a few big contracts. Maybe something comparable to Gibbs II 04 class.

Exactly, hopefully we spread money around and bring in some young talent to build some depth all over the team. Usually we throw a few huge contracts at players that we shouldn't be giving that kind of money to (Jason Taylor, AH etc.)

As fans, we side with Shanahan. but players view McNabb as incredibly awesome and amazing. Its their perception that really matters, not ours. Without exception, ever quote from a current or former player (now in the media) has taken mcnabbs side in the issue and feels the teams disrespected him.

Remember, we arent just talking about mcnabbs performance being poor.we're talking about the manner in which it went down and how that looks to other players.

I don't have any current links or statements to prove to you, but a friend of mine said all the players (Skins) seemed to side with Shanahan and liked how things were being handled.... supposedly when asked after yesterdays game. I presume it has to do with players being treated all the same and the work hard attitude brings about playing time.

So I'm not worried about what other players think as long as they know they are no longer getting a contract with the Skins to retire. Let them contact current players and ask all the questions they want.

Also remember Tom Coughlin was called a hard nosed difficult HC also his first yr and if I remember correctly there was talk of him being fired either during his first yr or after. Look at him now. Perhaps he lightened up a little and the Shanahan's can also but I'm glad there is some hard nose coaching going on for a change. Hopefully there is no more expecting a roster spot and playing time because of all the money they make.

Skins players' are "in the know" about the truth to McNabb. However, outsiders, except for the Eagles and guys like Freddie Mitchell and T.O, are probably just as well-informed as fans, which isn't very much informed. The difference is that they probably view McNabb as a brother, and thus will always blindly come to his aid, just like Redskins fans will blindly support Shanahan. Humans love to form cult of personalities, especially for powerful public male personalities.

Well I'm sure at this point and time most players will have each others backs considering the CBA and all but I was refering to players having the Shanahan's back in this case. Apparently they like what the coach's are doing and how they are handling things.

And as I said, I believe that the Redskins players agree with the way it's being handled because they know more about the situation at hand than say, practically anyone from another team or former players in the media.

Anyone got a list?

I would like for us to go after Steve Slaton if he's a FA. He has a perfect style of running for the zone blocking like the did in WVU.

He could also help on ST if he doesn't become our feature back.

We really don't know who the unrestricted FA's are yet. Do we?

I've got a feeling some of the top guys, like Vincent Jackson will re sign with their own teams or will be franchised. It's not like Philly is going to let Michael Vick walk out of there.

Well yeah, good teams usually sign their best players. Hopefully we do the same with Carlos. But they are still free agents, unsigned players

i wish they'd stay quiet for a year and just try and draft and get a bunch of un drafted free agents. let them play together for a while and then when this team might be ready for a playoff run, then add in the big money free agents. the front office has to realize that they're not one off season away from being a contender.

I guess so, making a splash has obviously ruined the past decade and future years but I hope they acknowledge we need to rebuild and get good building blocks and foundation to set us up for the following season when we can hope to have a real team and gravitate toward a playoff push.

No more gimmicks or temporary solutions please build us a team that plays football.
