Re: Titans to either trade or release Vince Young

I don't want VY on this team. I don't want to call VY a head case, but he's got issues that aren't solved that easily. We've already seen what happens when you have a head case on the roster, and Shanny has shown he wants guys that are all about the team. I don't think VY fits that mold. VY has the potential to be a headcase down the road.

And this sucks from a draft standpoint because the Titans are ahead of us in the pecking order, and now they're in the market for a quarterback.

how about trade Mcnabb to Tennessee! get a forth rounder for him...then we can do many things in our posistion. Could be an opportunity to get a veteran QB to a team that may only have 1 year for a coach to save his job. (Jeff Fisher)

Re: Titans to either trade or release Vince Young

The only problem I see with taking a chance on Vince Young is that if Jeff Fisher can't tolerate Young on his team then I can't imagine Shanny and Young getting along.

Otherwise, what the heck, go for it! Young has talent. If the Titans would like to swap Young for Haynesworth, as was suggested above, so much the better. Then, we might have a better chance of trading McNabb for a draft pick and we wouldn't need to use a draft pick on a QB. Then, as 2Big suggested, trade down in the draft and load up on rookie talent.

- Add Young
- Dump Haynesworth
- Trade McNabb for a draft pick
- Sign a couple of good FA's
- Trade down in the first round of the draft to get a 2nd or 3rd round pick
- Fill some more holes in the draft

Not a bad plan, IMHO.

If he was signed to compete with Grossman I would not have a problem with that.
I would not give anything up for him though.

I wouldnt mind giving him a chance.... but he needs a Tony Dungy in his life or some type of mentor/life coach/psychologist

Anyone know how bad his ligament issue is supposed to be?

As a bargain basement FA we should absolutely give him a shot. Biggest issue though is like someone said, he needs a down-to-earth mentor and we don't have one here.

Shanahan must be entertaining the possibility. Outside of maybe Brian Griese, all the QBs who ever played for him had mobility as their strong suit.

no way!,no how!.we don't need another "bad egg" at redskins park.I do agree we now have a problem with the titans ahead of us looking to draft a QB.

Re: Titans to either trade or release Vince Young

Vince Young needs mental health treatment before he can be fair to himself and the NFL. This is not a joke. Vince Young is not a mentally well person. He has had tons of red flags over the years, the biggest one being suicide watch in 2008, but nobody i dont think has really reached out to him to try and help.

He needs to at least take a serious look at some kind of outpatient thing before trying the rigors of the NFL again. No team is going to want to shell out very much for him for this very reason. Untreated, Vince Young is a ticking time bomb who could be only moments away from going off on the team, fans, and head coach, like he did Jeff Fisher.

He is exactly the kind of troubled player we would shell out big bucks for in the past, and he is now exactly the kind of player that Shanahan and Co. need to steer clear from.

There is no way we are signing vince young, he is not the answer for our team. Please stay away.

Since it would be a trade to get him I think it would be a bad idea. Would we have to give up picks if he is released and we pick him up?

I'm not sure there's room here for both Young...and Alex Smith...

Seriously though, there are already rumors of Oakland being interested
