Trotter isn't anything special at this point in his career. Certainly not better than what we have. I would even go as far as saying Pierce is better.

Trotter is better at stoping the run, but Perice is more useful overall because his cover skills are about 5 times better than Trotters. I agree with your statment.

Not sure that Trotter was really a "reskins" guy either.

Oh, well. It's crying over spilt milk. Let's just block his ass this sunday.

I agree. And more importantly, he would not fit in with the Greg Williams defense. Williams trys to confuse people with what he brings on each play. Linebackers must be able to cover, play specific assignments, and have the speed to get to a point.

Plus from what I saw on an interview in the locker room last season lavar insinuated that Trotter had bad breath that can't be good for a team trying to come together.

I say Trotter will be taken out of the game by running Portis on sweeps and runs to the outside challenging Simonu (sp?) to make the plays. If anything it will be Betts challenging the middle and might it be the week to revive Sellars FB lead blocking role becasue establishing the run is the absolute key to winning here . There is another issue too though with P-Ram getting more comfortable with the offence Trotter may be targeted as a coverage weak spot over the middle esp with Cooley going over the middle for example that should meen they aint just going to be able to key off on Portis all game.

Yep, match up Cooley on Trotter and take your chances. Make that play a few times and then run the screen to Portis. Portis is open space is as dangerous as Trotter in man coverage.

Well all they did was pound Portis up the middle at Trotter. They bowled him over and he ended up with 10 tackles. They obviously still feel he is not really worth it cause they atacked him straight on and had success. As for screens, Gibbs will not run it. He has run 1 or 2 this year but that is such a rare play for him.
