You got it! Good luck w/that sleeper, I only hate the canes when they're in college, they've been good to the skins, so if Harris comes around that's cool, just don't see him making it in the nfl.

Luck is a college senior, but he won't be out of NCAA eligibility at the end of the year. It won't matter though. Even if he were to be injured and miss the 2011 season, I still think he'd declare for the 2012 draft. And he would be the first pick.

Kind of a blah list. I haven't seen very much of Ryan Tannehill, though Texas A&M is coached by Mike Sherman, so he's doing a lot of pro style stuff there. I don't even think that matters, except it explains why he tops the list. I think John Brantley's stock will soar during the season, but he'll then drop to the middle rounds during pre-draft workouts.

I think Cousins could be very intriguing. I don't know how good he actually is though. He can definitely handle a pro offense, and will be drafted. I like Foles a lot more than the NFL types do. I like Lindley a lot less than the NFL types do. I wouldn't write off Jacory Harris just yet. He looked like a surefire star two years ago. Dominique Davis is going to have great numbers at ECU and he's going to make scouts drool. Could be a first round pick. Dan Persa is the prototype NU spread QB with a marginal NFL skill set who will be just dominant enough in an underdog college offense to be drafted.

I just think that Luck and Landry Jones will be first round picks next year. And that Jones has the best chance of succeeding in the NFL if we throw out the Luck.

I think the college QB most likely to succeed in the NFL is Matt Barkley, for numerous reasons, including one that he likely won't be in the 2012 draft.
O man, if Landry Jones, Andrew Luck and Matt Barkley were all in this next upcoming draft I'd be so happy. Looking at whose in the market for a franchise qb, I'd say we have a very good shot at landing one of them.

Has anyone mentioned Foles?

And FD I agree, but with the lockout the discussion options are limited. Better this than some other threads we've had

This class could have 5 "legit" 1st rounders if Barkley comes out.

And Monkey you are correct Hokies fans are awake and shhhhhh but Logan Thomas is getting alot good press as there QB coming in this year. Looked like a monster this past spring.

GTripp mentioned Foles.

I think that Foles is going to be picked apart to the level that no one will take him in the first round. That could be great for the Redskins though, because they could potentially get a franchise level prospect in the second round of the 2012 draft. And to my knowledge, we haven't yet traded that pick for an inside linebacker.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects

Just look at this video, it's clear while Luck is probably going to be the first pick in the drafft...but I don't know, there's just something about him that...irks me. That doesn't quite sit right. I can't put my finger on it. He's clearly talented...but there's just...SOMETHING.

Maybe I should just chalk it up to him being a college QB and say he'll get better...

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects

I'm sure we won't draft high enough to get Luck, Barkley, or Landry Jones. The next best option for us at qb is Nick Foles. He's been spectacular so for this season. He has two 400 yd games and three 300 yard games. He's completing 70% of his passes against pretty stout competition. I think he has great size, great arm, great accuracy, decent mobility, and he's smart. I like this kid and I think he's going to be a great NFL qb. I know everyone is in love with Andrew Luck but this guy is a franchise qb.

Nick Foles vs USC - YouTube
Oh I absolutely agree with you. Nick Foles reminds me of a lot of QBs. After watching that USC game, throughout the game I thought I was watching different NFL QB's play. I saw shades of Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Big Ben, and even Tom Brady. That last play of the highlight real reminded me of Brady how he stood still in the pocket danced a little, looked, looked, then fired a quick dart over the middle.

says the guy with the breenan screen name. 50% of 1st rounders never amount to anything, and later rounds are even worse... so if it were me, i'd avoid using so many hyperbolic comparisons. colt looked like peytonin college right? hill of beans.

Nick Foles is stud at qb. I hope he remains under the radar for most fans and teams. Whoever does their homework and really look at what this guy brings to the table will be impressed with his skill set. You make a lot of great points about the USC games. He made great decisions in that game under a lot of pressure. This guy is forreal.

I will agree that there is a lot to like about Foles. But I disagree about the arm part. IMO the guy does not have such a strong arm, so he throws a lot of rainbows which may connect in college but won't in the NFL. In the NFL he will need to throw more ropes rather than rainbows.

Is there any reason no one is talking about Robert Griffin III out of Baylor? Kid's having a monster year (and apparently a more than solid college career overall).
