How much have we spent in Afghanistan since Pres. Obama was elected. etc etc, and on it goes.

pretty frustrating. (but don't worry cuz pretty soon all 300+million of us are going to sit down together and deliberate till we come to the rational answer)
How did I bash Obama other then saying he is not qualified for the job? He is the one doing these thing and I just posted the link. Its just some who supported him take it personally when he keeps proven us right.

Have you ever had someone come into your office and say "How did I bash that Solara other than I ran into the back of it?" I kinda look at your first sentence like that.

When Firstdown starts these threads about Obama he reminds me of a school girl that has to run to the teacher every time Johnny does something wrong on the playground. Gets old.

This two-party system is heading for failure, because of people like you on both sides of this country's political spectrum, who live to just attack the other side.

This is not a democracy, this is just a fight between two sides who are trying to prove the other wrong. While everyone else is getting f*cked by a terrible economy. Don't get me wrong, I think this is a terrible thing that has happened. But as a country we need to start getting the ENTIRE government accountable for what is happening right now. Sure, Obama is going to lose the next election, but whoever replaces him is going to continue the same tiring cycle of both sides fighting each other and not making progress.

But Obama has only been in office for 3/8th the time Bush was!!!!! So he must be the better president!!!!

Sike, i feel you man. Thats why i abstain from voting. I never have and likely never will; complete waist of time!

I agree with some of the posts here. FD, it's people like you that make me despise politics at times. Just mindless banter to support one position. And yes I hate the opposite side too. The Chris Matthews and Michael Moores.

It's annoying as hell because it is not a fair/rational debate of the issues and facts.

this is just another example of money corrupting politics, and a horrible lack of oversight.

It's not a democrat problem, its a government problem. Bush wasted far more than this buying useless ammo etc from iraqi contractors, so I guess he wasn't ready to be president either.

Burn the witch of political lobbyist, free america from its chains, and all that.
I'm out.

I really rock a 37 waist, but jeans, slacks, etc. its tough to find. So i roll with the 38 inch which is cool cause i enjoy being the white boy bustin a slacks sag round the office. It says, Chico got the TPX reports down and at the sametime is keepin it real.

I think what people are getting at is that you make yourself look as if you have not 1 bi-partisan bone in your body. I'm sure you probably do, but it's like as soon as some negative Obama statistics come out, it's like "LOOK. LOOK AT WHAT HE'S DONE." And as soon as he's done something positive, it's like "Yeah but look at all these OTHER screw ups."

And people did the exact same thing with Bush. And other Republicans and democrats. The fact of the matter is when it comes to politics, no one EVER wants to admit when the other side does something that could even be marginally construed as positive.

So people have just decided to say F it and try not to talk about it.

Re: Obama's $535,000,000 Waist Of Tax Payers Money

I'll make two contributions. First and most importantly, my waist size is 32. And that's after a hearty breakfast, a couple of brews, and a Bloody Mary. Secondly, let's see if we can resurrect this flailing thread because it's actually a good topic worthy of discussion. Without trying to take sides (because you know which side I'm on), I'll post a couple of links that provide some insight as to why this investment unraveled and didn't work.

To be clear though, this was a program sponsored by the Department of Energy (DOE) in which start-up renewable companies could apply for a loan to expand their operation. This wasn't a situation where Obama stormed down to the local bank and pressured the loan officer into forking over 500 cakes. (<<<<slang) Or upped their credit rating to get them approved. As far as I can tell there was no impropriety or scandal on the part of the White House. If anything the White House probably got a little over zealous and didn't vet this firm good enough to warrant such a huge investment of taxpayer money. If Obama and the White House are guilty of anything here, they bet on the wrong horse. Had Solyndra succeeded there's no story, no thread, and Firstdown is asking where's Obama's birth certificate

Here's where I come down on this issue: Should government be in the business of investing in green companies or any start-up technologies to help them succeed and keep jobs here and not abroad? Before you say no, read this excerpt I clipped from one of the links.

But the real take-away is this: Can U.S. companies developing advanced solar technology compete against low-cost Chinese manufacturers who benefit from state support and a government policy to create markets at home and abroad for their products?

What Solyndra's Bankruptcy Means For Silicon Valley Solar Startups - Forbes

Solyndra: Yes, It Was Possible To See This Failure Coming - Forbes

Couple of good Forbes articles here and within one of them, it leads to another Blog where some conservatives are ripping Obama a new one. It's all fair game.

Re: Obama's $535,000,000 Waist Of Tax Payers Money

Basically, the debate comes to one thing. How can we achieve energy independence and what is our blue print to get there. If you notice, the politicians on TV outraged and screaming the loudest either live in coal or oil producing states or have ties to the oil lobby. If we can get past the right and left politics for a moment, this really comes down to entrenched special interests and lobbyists fighting to maintain the status quo to keep their share of the pie. They have no interest in seeing the Solyndra's of the world take off and shape our energy future.

No the worst part is Obama trying to negotiate with the Taliban. WTF? I voted for him once but we all should learn from our mistakes.

I guess the lives of Americans lost in the War are worthless.
