Brohm would be like signing John Beck all over again, with one key difference: he's young enough where there is actual upside to the move if he plays well.

But the Redskins would be dumb in that direction. Would have been nice to have him in this season though.

The Redskins are well positioned to be able to draft the best of the rest.
Out of curosity, who would you like the redskins to select in the draft at QB?

Also could you answer the question in a draft that doesnt include Barkley or Jones.

I wonder how Matt Flynn will pan out in free agency...

It's nearly impossible to answer without knowing who is in the draft. If only the graduating seniors came out, I would pass on a QB in the top five and take one at the top of the second.

Anecdotally, the four best I have graded this year (non-Luck division): Matt Barkley, Landry Jones, Dominique Davis, Kellen Moore.

If though Nick Foles or Robert Griffin are the best available QB when we pick in the first round, I think we need to take them. Same with Tannehill, though I don't have him up quite as high as either Foles or Griffin.

Really, this is the rare year where you almost cannot go wrong with anyone. I'm skeptical of Tannehill compared to other seniors such as Foles, Moore, Cousins, Davis, and even Jacory Harris. But even in his case, I'm not down on him. He would compare favorably to Blaine Gabbert, my no. 1 QB from 2011. And Tannehill is my 8th rated QB right now, given all possibilities.

Redskins scouted Dominique Davis a couple of times this year so far

The free agency class is insane as well. Campbell, Henne, Flynn, Hanie, Alex Smith, Kyle Orton, Vince Young. And then even the guys who profile as backups would have made good options this year: Dan Orlovsky, Rex Grossman, Brady Quinn, Drew Stanton.

Added to the draft class, I think there's enough supply for every team to be two-deep in terms of promising players at QB. In other words, if we don't open up training camp with two guys who are better options in Week 1 than the two guys we have now, we didn't do a good job.

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)

I think that both Barkley and Landry would be smart to enter the draft. I truly don't understand how any player who would probably be picked in the Top 10 in the draft would stay in school. I know that some players can get insurance against injury but I think that if I were that player's parent I would advise him to come out and get the money while he can. It's just too risky to stay in school when there is so much money at stake.

Actually, let me correct this. I would take Nick Foles at fifth or sixth overall.

Other than Foles, I would not take any of the seniors that high. But the underclassmen, there's four of them I would take in the top ten.

Is there an example of someone who stayed in school and lost a ton of money? I mean, even in the cases of Matt Leinart and Jake Locker, the teams who supposedly would have taken them "first overall" didn't bite on them just a year later.

I bet Foles goes higher than the 5th or 6th round, more like the 2nd. The guy can play, he had the bad luck of playing for a crappy team.
