Although it could happen, I just don't see New England losing to the Giants in this Super Bowl. Yes, the Giants defeated the Patriots 24-20 in New England earlier this year. Tom Brady still threw for 342 yards and some TDs. Brady has a chip on his shoulder still from the Super Bowl XLXII loss. He'll get payback this time around against Big Blue.

re: Around the NFL: Super Bowl Thread

I see the Pats winning this game.

I don't know, from the start of the playoffs, I just thought the Pats were going to win the SB again. Brady has seemed very focused and hungry to win another ring. He played poorly against the Ravens, but even if they scored the fg I still saw the Pats winning the game. Brady is a big time, clutch, and last minute game winning QB.

The Giants are very reminiscent of the 07 team that won the SB, but I just have a gut feeling on this one that the Pats will win with a late game TE td catch leaving the Eli with not enough time to score.

Pats will win.
Why?
Because I want them to lose...

Giants win this in a shoot out. Better D and they have a pass rush that can get to Brady. The Pats D is going to struggle against the Giants WRs and Eli should have a big game.

Giants 34
Patriots 28

Could one of the mods change the title and make this the new "Around the NFL- Superbowl thread". No need for a new thread.

Payton looked bad Sunday and that might work against the giants. He usually has a big game after a bad one.

When did the Colts trade Peyton to the Patriots?

Peyton Manning talks Indianapolis Colts' changes, uncertain future - ESPN

rut roh raggy.

Quote:
"I'm not in a very good place for healing, let's say that," he told the newspaper. "It's not a real good environment down there right now, to say the least. Everybody's walking around on eggshells. I don't recognize our building right now. There's such complete and total change."

Manning said he met with new general manager Ryan Grigson last week and was told that Irsay would determine whether the quarterback will remain a Colt.

LOL! I'm on board with that! Redskins 72 New York Giants 41, November 1966; still an NFL record!

LOL! Good answer. I know the Manning-Grossman comparison was about as meaningful as the Redskin record in gold pants (2-5), burgundy pants (3-2), and white pants (0-4), but just wanted to have some fun and see what kind of replies came out.

One stat that was meaningful for the Redskins in 2011, and might even be meaningful for the Super Bowl, Redskins were 5-3 when winning time of possession and 0-8 when losing time of possession. So we won time of possession in both Giant games, and lost it versus Patriots. TOP might be a factor for you against Brady and company.
