Here's the thing about the Brady/Montana comparisons. Montana played with Hall of Fame skill players on his offense. Rice is a lock. Brent Jones will get some votes, as will Roger Craig. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if John Taylor gets "Stallworthed" in after Rice makes Hall.

Now, does anyone think a single Patriot from this year's team is a lock for the Hall, besides Brady? Maybe Vinateri, and others (on the defense) will get consideration. There certainly aren't any wideouts that are Canton-bound, and I don't see Dillon pre-ordering a bronze bust of himself.

It's early, but the Brady-backers aren't completely crazy.

Brady is a great QB and is still VERY young. Thing it is too early to compare with Montana, but before its all said and done he could be the greatest to ever play.

IMO what makes Tom Brady so great is the same thing that makes the Patriots great, they play smart football. They are extremely well coached and they play smart ball.
I don't care about stats...Tom Brady is the best QB in the NFL, period. Peyton Manning might have much bigger stats but he also has bigger/better weapons on offense and plays in a less balanced offense (they throw more). Look who held the TD pass record before Peyton, Dan Marino. How many Super Bowls did he win? ZERO! Screw stats!
Plus I don't think Peyton has proved in college or NFL that he can win the big game. He chokes! He threw something like 4 INT's in last years AFC championship game and scored only 3 points in this years final game. Brady does not throw many INT's. He will throw the short pass or even throw the ball away. Until the other young guns like Peyton Manning and McNabb learn this and play smarter they will continue to come up short.
Tom Brady better get the MVP trophy next year.

I think what Tom Brady's problem is that he is quietly efficient......I think one poster said he's smart and that's correct too, he does his homework. And when he's on the field he does his job so quietly and effectively that you don't really realize it until you look at his stats..........he's like Tim Duncan of NBA....Mr. Fundamental.................

Hmmm...that description kinda reminds me of a former Redskin WR that should be in the HoF.
