re: Hey Ho, Haslett has to go! (or maybe not)
I have an idea. Let's switch for a 4-3 during the bye week.
OK, all joking aside. I don't see how getting rid of Haslett helps. To be clear, there are instances when addition by subtraction is a viable strategy, and D. Hall is getting perilously close to the point where that could happen, but for coaches, that's generally a bad idea unless the locker room is lost. Moreover, on our staff, it doesn't seem like anyone has more experience with the defense we're running. And I don't get the sense that Haslett has lost the locker room (I haven't seen a single report indicating as much, which one often sees when that happens). I do think that the staff is now trying to think about how else it might generate pressure -- I think seeing Baker on the field yesterday was evidence of that (even though it was not successful). I also think they're pushing the CBs to press a little more at the line -- as evidenced by C. Griffin's penalty. But clearly, these things are not enough. |

re: Hey Ho, Haslett has to go! (or maybe not)
I feel that this might be the last year of this failed 3-4 experiment. We've never had the personnel for a 3-4 defense hence all the yards/points given up. I think we should wait to until the end of the season, but I get the feeling that if we lose to Carolina it may happen sooner.

Aww shit! I thought the title said he's been let go. I say give Morris a try.

He's done a fantastic job with our DBs... a promotion is definitely in order. |

I voted he has to go now. Our defense has been going from bad to worse which can't fully attributed to injuries.... Morris can't do any worse as far as I'm concerned....

But seriously, the "wives like to talk to their husbands" response isn't terribly informative. And to be clear, I am not at all doubting your word, but I would like to hear a little more detail about how Haslett has lost the locker room and which players, in particular, no longer have faith in him. One or two malcontents griping doesn't move me; a larger groundswell from real team leaders does. And if we're talking about something as drastic as removing our DC, I would want to have more to go on before arriving at a view, and I would imagine that others on this site who follow the team and try to engage in informed discussions might as well. |

LOL. I tend to think Raheem will be one and done here. That's just my guess.

re: Hey Ho, Haslett has to go! (or maybe not)
Fletcher's disconnect with Haslett was a big reason why he nearly didn't return this year. Haslett and Alexander have butted heads plenty as well. As have Wilson and Haslett

SS, can you answer this...how do you think the reaction of the Path will be with the coach we are looking at to replace Haslett and will he (or she if Rex Ryan) continue with the 3-4?
