Re: Adam Schefter this morning on Sports Fix
In 2009 Halls contract was structuted to where he got his signing bonus money in 2010 instead of prorating it over years like most contracts. So releasing him in 2013 wouldn't be much of a cap hit. Like SS said...
Hall's gone.

Re: Adam Schefter this morning on Sports Fix
You and me both buddy! We can finally move on from this clown. I read an article about how talented he is but also how inconsistent he is supposedly because he plays his way and hasn't had a coach strong enough to get him to play the correct way. Whatever...he should'nt be our problem much longer.

Re: Adam Schefter this morning on Sports Fix
I know I should hate Hall and everything, but when he flipped out on Sunday, in addition to the penalities, I saw a guy fired up. And that made him only one of eleven guys on that defense fired up. Sefishness and stupidity are qualities that you never want to see in one of your players, but there is one thing worse: apathy. I'm not going to accuse any individual players of being apathetic, but the defense as a unit sometimes comes across that way. Can't blame Hall for that, because if there's one thing he's not, it's apathetic.
But this aside, who do we replace him with? Following Sheffer's logic, the answers for the Skins lies in the draft. Unlikely the Skins will find any game-changing corners in the 3rd round, but I imagine they can find someone to match Hall's skill set. |

So will Fletcher if he continues to play like he has been. He'll be carrying a 5.5 base next year if I'm correct. They aren't going to pay him that type of money only to watch him drop even further.

Re: Adam Schefter this morning on Sports Fix
As for the 1st RND draft pick and the sustainablity of a franchise...here are the Skins 1st RND draft picks from 82 to 92. Also remember there was very limited FA during this time, so 1st RND picks were, if anything, more valuable.
1982 No first-round draft pick 1983 28 Darrell Green CB Texas A&I 1984 No first-round draft pick 1985 No first-round draft pick 1986 No first-round draft pick 1987 No first-round draft pick 1988 No first-round draft pick 1989 No first-round draft pick 1990 No first-round draft pick 1991 17 Bobby Wilson DT Michigan State 1992 4 Desmond Howard WR Michigan If you look at the above with the way Allen and Shanny have drafted in terms of both adding picks during the draft and getting guys that can contribute - I think we will be fine without the two 1st rounders we gave up |

I'm a dhall fan not a huge one but let's ask a serious question. Who is better than him on our team right now? Exactly

Agreed. Skins have had waaaaaaay bigger holes to fill than his spot. Dont like the majority of his trash talking and antics but if i had been on as many losing teams as him id probably be a little chippy myself.

Re: Adam Schefter this morning on Sports Fix
The question isn't who is better on our team right now than Hall. The question is could we use the cap space that cutting Hall would free up to replace him and make even more improvements.
Cutting him will save $8M in cap space next year. That can buy at least two starting caliber players. So the answer is a resounding yes. Now you just have to determine if a CB will be on the market who is better than Hall (shouldn't be hard). It's a no brainer, he's gone. I'd bet my house on it.
