Re: Ravens V Redskins - Beltway Brawl or Maryland Massacre?
This is going to be a weird game. Both Ds are nothing to write home about and the passing attacks are nothing to write home about due to inconsistency. Rice and Morris are going to be the core of this game, but RG3 is going to be the difference.
The wuss over at Walterfootball has this going straight up for the Redskins, but won't put any units on it. A spread of 1.5 is pretty narrow though. |

I hear you dude. I need to show in my profile I'm 49 yrs old and I remember seeing Sonny and Billy throwin some thrillie. I seen it come and go and come and go. I hope I'm getting a look at it comming back. The colors have always flowed thru my blood. Burgandy and Gold is how I roll. Baltimore once was blue and white. I recall a horse shoe. So now Purple???? WTF with that anyhow?? Please kick that ass!!!!

All I know is, if the Redskins don't win I'm going to have to hear it from EVERYONE. Family. Friends. Exes. Strippers. Pimps. Hos. Crackheads. Bill collectors. Everyone will talk some crap.
Living in the DC Metro area, losing to the Ravens is almost as bad as losing to Dallas.

To some of us and I certainly speak of myself also, this is a rivalry. It's become a rivalry at a personal level now. Fed Ex will be full of Purple just like it was yellow and black when Steelers played. I'm trying to get some tickets from a friend because I'm thinking the Ravens fans will soon be eating the dying crow they're becoming. I want to see it live. It would be most rewarding to see a true change localy and get braging rights redeemed.

Two of the girls I was associates/friends with back when they were here at ECU are huge Ravens fans. One lives in DC, and the other VB. One of them actually cheered for the Ravens back in '03. Quite the hottie too. :P If we lose, I'm sure I'll be hearing from both on facebook.

Re: Ravens V Redskins - Beltway Brawl or Maryland Massacre?
When I was a kid I really like the Cleveland Browns, but when they moved to Baltimore (even though it was closer to home) I never embraced them. In fact, I kind of disowned them and started hating them
That said, from a professional standpoint (as in my career), I'm unfortunately a huge fan of their organization. Like I love the Redskins as a football fan, but don't think I'd ever want to work for them but I can't stand the Ravens as a football fan, but would probably choose them over any other NFL organization as an employee.

I refuse to let them turn this into something. Daseal said it best, "I guess it must hurt to have a competitive team that is constantly crushed in popularity be a perennial bottom-dweller right down the road." Sad part is, I used to want them to do well... ...until I met their fans; and there are only two types: 1) You live in Baltimore or 3-4 miles from that city or; 2) You only know the team from 2000 on...

Re: Ravens V Redskins - Beltway Brawl or Maryland Massacre?
Here is what I would tell the Skins defense before the game:
"They bleed just like we do, and sweat just like we do. They went through two-a-days. We went through two-a-days in 110 degree heat. I want you to hit everything that moves! If the ref gets in your way, you hit him too!" (Friday Night Lights Movie). |

The definition of the word "rivalry" speaks of the competition "on the field" For me and other fans the field exists at work, home, facebook, ect. It's a fans rivalry for bragging rights for sure! The competition is beat down your competitor with bragging. We haven't had much to brag about for a long time. Here on the north east side of fanville it's in your face! It's rivalry here alright....Yes indeedie!!! |

Have a buddy who loved the Panthers and said, "They're never on TV, I'm a Ravens fans now." Well congratulations asshole, the Skins are on TV EVERY WEEKEND HERE. I told him the bandwagon will be full next year when you decide you made a terrible and ridiculous decision. I don't mean that I don't want the Skins to gain new fans because of RG3s popularity, but when you go from Carolina to Baltimore, all respect is lost.
