I've heard that term used with it. I do agree its a classic show. But I feel like in order for a show to be a classic, it has to be widely talked about 10, 15, 20 plus years after it goes off the air. (I think it will, but for now we'll call it a Cult Classic)

I've always thought cult classic referred to a show or movie that didn't do well in the ratings or at the box office, but had a strong and loyal following. Along the lines of Arrested Development, Friday Night Lights, The Big Lebowski, etc. Didn't The Sopranos have mainstream and critical success? Not sure that cult really applies here.
