Re: Feels like doom

Drafting an ILB that can start next year along with a combination of drafting and signing FA to the OL will make a huge difference next year. I don't think the skins lack talent, holes in certain positions make them look worse than they are.

Re: Feels like doom

RG III was a marketing gimmick pure and simple. Yeah he has talent, but he keeps Snyder rich via jersey sales etc.. The NFL is all about money, nothing more, nothing less. The two teams with the highest net worth are the two franchises run by tweedle dee and tweedle dum, who love to keep things in flux and chaos to keep the tickets selling like hotcakes. Over the Thanksgiving Holiday I saw the second Hunger Games movie, where the dictator Pres Snow tells the game master that to control the people better you give them a little bit of hope. Interesting take on things, but it applies to the Skins, in that the whole thing seems to be always in chaos, but with a certain level of excitement after the new HC or QB is brought in, but it only takes 3-4 seasons to the whole thing starting over again.

I think thats a by product that Snyder can take comfort in, but the guy is a true fan - i think he would pay an insane amount of money to win a championship. He has actually tried to in the past. Not sure i buy the whole meal ticket cash cow thing with Griff. DS was swimming in it a long time ago. He wants a championship.

I am not sure Punch. Really now. Snyder and Jones are geniuses and are good friends in the process. The new breed of owners such as these two are, only care about the money, as does Goodell. Remember, the NFL is nothing more than a huge corporation. Corporations are pathological entities that only care about profits The overall quality of the NFL product has significantly gone down in the past 5-10 years as a result of this new found one dimensional thinking. Snyder and Jones probably have dinner together, laughing there asses off, scheming about how to create drama for the next season, and they have the moronic plebes always ever hopeful for the glory days again. Like the Hunger Games, give the people some hope and you have them licked. Thing is eventually the plebes will tire of this and get privy to the "scam". I used to be a rabid diehard Skins fan, now I don't really give a damn, but think the sideshows that are being put on are rather amusing in that you see the plebes that don't get it yet tearing their hair out as the team continues to lose.

Re: Feels like doom

I mean how pathetic can a team get. The star Qb's daddy is trying to run the team? He is telling Snyder who to hire as the next HC. IF Snyder hires Briles I will laugh my ass off!!!! It took the NFL only one preseason to figure out how to stuff Spurrier's Fun N Gun. Do you think Briles is going to do any better with his system? I admit that Shanny adopted a lot of the Baylor playbook last season to help RG III out, but it won't take NFL defenses long to figure out how to stop another college system.

I'm even losing hope at this ie team life beyond Shanahan. You need to get to the bottom of all this talk about RG being to proud to accept instruction, his dad running his mouth etc etc.

Hit job..plain and simple.

Lost a lot of respect for Cole. He had done such meaningful and good work for Yahoo. This was a sh*t show story. Multiple reporters are getting out and out denials on almost all of it ON RECORD. From college coaches and team mates to current team mates.
