I think it's going in NVA also. Not sure where but somewhere inside the 495 loop.

As for capacity, please, he is going to cram every seat he can in there. I would be surprised if it is less than 80K. Just b/c it would have a high capacity does not mean it has to be bad. FedEx is just a giant bowl - not much creativity in design. A little creative design work could enhance the experience and home field advantage even if the stadium has a high capacity.

Oh, and it will have a roof. Danny wants his Super Bowl.

high capacity = tons of opposing team fans.

if you look at all the new, 75k+ stadiums, they all have that same problem. the redskins are no longer unique in that regard.

It's going to be hard for danny to sell PSLs to the fans with the team as shitty as it is. He better be waiting for some good years to be able to sell it to the fans.

This is great news and it was nice to hear Snyder come out and talk about it. But where in the world would they put it? Maryland is the worst idea. If it's No Va where? Haymarket? lol. No Va has built up so much that there isn't anyplace to me that makes any sense. They have to put the stadium where a metro is and the RFK site would be perfect.

My money's on RFK too, but first they gotta wait for DC United to move into their new stadium. I don't think that's even been approved yet so we would definitely be looking at a few years wait.

the stadium in N Va could hurt the redskins roots in Md. The "mason dixon" line for skins v. ravens fans is the columbia/laurel area (imo).

Will moving the stadium to n va lead to more frederick/columbia residents becoming ravens fans? n va is already strong skins territory.

i still say barry farms across from nats park.

Re: New Stadium for the Redskins being planned . . .

The D.C. government would actually like to have the new stadium. The ultra-PC D.C. politicians might pose a problem in getting a deal done with Dan Snyder. There is a Metro station right next to RFK Stadium, if they were to use that site.

Traffic in Northern VA is so congested that the local radio stations provide traffic reports on weekends. If the stadium is built in NOVA it may be located far outside of D.C. Then the fans might not be able to use the Metro on game days.

I doubt that Maryland will be the choice for a number of reasons, including the existence of the Ravens.

it's just the way the league is going. he's not going to miss out of the scam revenue that is PSL's.

i'm willing to read the pitch when it comes out, but i have a feeling it's going to be a scam like many of the others.

10+k for the 'right' to purchase season tickets to a seat? and if you don't buy tickets one year you lose your license?

it's a scam.

If Danny wants that retro Redskins feeling back, the only way is to put the new Stadium back in DC

Re: New Stadium for the Redskins being planned . . .

I disagree.

The only way to get it back is to start winning consistently and stop making a money grab at every corner and chasing away the real fans in favor of people that just want to say they were there.

Re: New Stadium for the Redskins being planned . . .

If the team moves back into D.C., I wonder what they'll be called? LOL!

For selfish reasons, I would love for the team to move a bit deeper into VA. Just so it wouldn't be as far for me to travel to the game. Don't know much about NoVA, so I have no idea where the stadium would go. Maybe it would be just south or Northern VA? Heck...just put in Roanoke, VA! ;-)

I hope DMV leaders are smart enough not to give Snyder any tax payer money.
