Same for me. People fall in love with this idea of having more picks, but where has it gotten us the last few times we did it? We need impact players not just quantity.

Stevie Wonder has a better chance of finding an impact player than the Redskins staff.

If it's one thing we've hit on under Snyder it's the high first rounders. Samuels, Arrington, Williams, Taylor, etc.

Bobby Beathard and Bill Walsh were the kings of trading down, hopefully we can get a competent GM that can do that.

I'd rather use the high picks to get 2 or 3 players who can immediately make an impact and then some late round guys to develop. Instead of getting a bunch of above average to average guys who may or may not pan out with future development. Every now and then you get a Tom Brady or an Alfmo or a Breeland, but considering how incompetent our scouts have been and the fact we can't draft for shit I'd rather not take that risk.

I'm guessing, though, that Winston and Mariota will not be valued as highly by real teams as they are by the numerous draft sites which have them going at the top.

The QB's who were supposed to revolutionize the game: RGIII, Kaep, Newton, etc., have mostly struggled (Russell Wilson excepted). So I think more GM's will be cautious about drafting nontraditional QB's like Mariota or Winston. The game has caught up with the "running" QB.

Which is a long way of saying that I don't see Leonard Williams dropping to five. Just my two cents.

Hopefully he is, him and Kerrigan would be our version of Justin and Aldon Smith

Re: How the draft looks if we trade down

When we are talking about trading down here we are only really looking at moving from 5 to say 11. If Williams is there then you take him (likely he won't be) otherwise is there a huge difference between the players available at these spots?

I am for trading down a few spots if Williams is gone to grab an extra 2nd rounder. After that, let's pick BPA at the top of each round.

Oh and getting someone in who can identify talent is a must. I fully recognise that we are currently poor in this aspect. That's where our most important changes are needed this off season.

I hear the Titans will trade us their pick for just 2 additional First Rounders

Mock draft has Williams going to the Titans. The one I read (if we kept the #5 spot) has us picking up Landon Collins at SS from Bama.

Re: How the draft looks if we trade down

Also, yes trade down please. If we can't get one of the big two rushers, it's gotta happen.

Although I'm not against cutting ties with Garcon and drafting Cooper.

I do not think Snyder is making the picks ...... and there are no Sean Taylors, Chris Samuels, or Trent Williams in this draft. It is going to a major make-over to make this team good.

They say that every draft, and every draft they are wrong. JJ Watt wasn't JJ Watt coming out of college.

Leonard Williams
Randy Gregory
Shane Ray
Jameis Winston
Ronnie Stanley
Amari Cooper
Landon Collins
Marcus Mariotta (Don't want him)

You can't tell me there will not be a great prospect at pick #5.

Of those players, IMO Williams is the only one worth the #5 pick. There is a case also for Gregory. Maybe Cooper. All other players on that list have some problematic element.

As for Stanley, IMO we can trade down and still get him because #5 is way too high for him.

again, just my two cents.
