Redskins need to start getting rid of older players a year early rather than 1-2 years too late. Cofield is the perfect example of someone that it's time to move on from.

That's the factor if he can get healthy

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

So you sign him and let him prove he's healthy in camp. He wouldn't command big guaranteed money, so no downside.

I'll always respect Bowen and Cofield for being good guys off the field, but I'm not sad to see them go. I'm fine if Cofield comes back on a team friendly deal though.

Nothin but love, BUT can't we just try some big NTs? These signings were not fruitful.

That's true. Always felt he was better as a 3-4 DE

With Spaggs back in NY that could all so be an option for him .

I'd like to see Cofield back on a smaller deal.

Bowen not so much, even on vet min.

Nice, out with the old. Bring in more young talent and build through the draft. Its so nice to be in good shape on our cap number.

Lol...well I'm not shaking my head yet as in years past...free agency looms. Luavao and porter signings were terrible last year...keeping haslett last year was horrible. And of bruce playing gm and team prez was probably the worst. That was just last year

Re: Offseason cuts are coming in

It's time to move on and get better. I liked Barry Cofield and Stephen Bowen. But they both were cap casualties. We saved almost $10 million by cutting both of them. Chris Chester will be next...it's time to bring in some young and talented players.

Keim was on Inside the Locker room with Mitchell.

He said Cofield is dealing with a labrum injury and the door isn't closed on his return but the team is waiting to see how the situation plays out.
