The price for Cleveland to move up is both their 1sts this year and their first next year.

There is zero chance of Flowers lasting until the second round, so it would have to be another OL.

I really don't care what the trade chart says.

At 5, we have a shot at Cooper & Williams - to me, the two safest picks in the whole draft. Alternatively, we have a shot at a potential franchise QB in Mariotta (me, I am not sold on MM but plenty of folks are and QB's demand premium prices). Anyone wanting a shot at one of those three needs to pay.

In this draft, the talent drop after six is significant and any trade back increases the chances of a miss on the pick so multiple picks are needed to make up for the lower chance of success on each of the picks.
Six "can't miss" players, you say? There are the two QBs, Cooper, and Williams. Who are your other two?

Washington Redskins - ESPN

Wow Good stuff here on Ereck Flowers by Keim. Looks like im in full endorsement if we slide a little bit back in the draft then we need to grab this guy. Looks like he could be the best Tackle in the draft.

I am counting Fowler and Beasley. One may make it past six but I doubt both will.

For some reason I think the pick will end up being Cooper. Only because I think Williams goes to Oakland

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Dante Fowler Jr visiting today, Vic Beasly lined up next week.

Beasly is moving up high on the boards

Yeah, I think the two QB's go in the top 4. If one of the edge rushers (the current rumor seems to be Fowler to Jax) then one of Williams, Cooper or Beasly falls to us. I am happy with anyone of these three and prefer them in that order.

Dante Fowler visits with Washington Redskins, Vic Beasley in next week - Washington Redskins Blog - ESPN

Keim has a list of visitors...I'm torn on fowler or beasly. Lotta folks been moving beasly ahead of Gregory and fowler up on the board much like how marriota has replaced Winston as the #1 qb on some experts rankings.

Re: Redskins Draft Prospects 2015

Interesting breakdown on Scot McC's drafting tendencies.

Washington Redskins: Scot McCloughan Values WRs and CBs

He likes WR's and the SEC.

Welcome to the Washington Redskins Amari Cooper.

I like both Fowler and Beasly. Both guys can be immediate impact players in area of need. I think Beasly is a better pass rusher. However, I think Fowler is more versatile.

I look forward to it. Cooper reminds me of a faster Reggie Wayne, Torry Holt if you will

I really hope we draft the best Def. player at 5 . Of course if any team makes an offer to good to refuse, I would love to see that and add more picks .

Re: Redskins Draft Prospects 2015

From today's Keim article - Bill Polian on Redskins' Scot McCloughan's drafts: 'Meat and potatoes' - Washington Redskins Blog - ESPN

Quote:
It’s not as if every draft produced under McCloughan; his last two in San Francisco were bad (one of those 13 draftees remained on the roster last year, Michael Crabtree). But his first three produced the foundation of the eventual playoff teams – and five were on the roster last year. That’s quite good.
I am the first to buy into the mantra "In Scot We Trust" but I think it important to make sure the discussion is based in reality. Even under the best circumstances, the draft is a crap shoot and even the best evaluators miss. Hopefully, Scotty McC replicates the success of his first three drafts, and not the failure of his latter two.

From the same article - Bill Polian's take on McC's drafting tendencies:

Quote:
Polian said in a conference call. “It was meat and potatoes. Not a lot of flash and dash. Just good, solid football players who block and tackle and ran and were tough. You have to give him high marks for that.”
I am good with that.

Re: Redskins Draft Prospects 2015

Sack predictor based on statistics:

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | SackSEER 2015

Supposedly it doesn't take into account performance against the run.

Ranks Beasley much higher than Fowler.

I think it's similar to Nike's SPARQ rating on athleticism except this accounts for a player's performance in college.

I don't think a team drafts a guy because of a prediction based solely on metrics, but I think teams would avoid a guy based on metrics.
