WTF is going on? Are they going to trade one of our WRs? Maybe they brought him in for special teams? What are his current cap numbers? Maybe they want to suck his brains and find out what the Eagles do? Does god exist? How old is the universe? These are all question that need answers.

That's hilarious, Saden.

Is this a done deal now? I better go check the WP.

Ha ha ha, that was a great post Saden! I'm still laughing

Anyway, I don't get this at all. Anyone want to explain to me how he fits in with McCants, Taylor, Jacobs, and Gardner?

And now besides all the coaches that have come back we've also reacquired Sellers, Raymer, Rasby, Thrash (am I forgetting someone)? Anyone else find that a bit odd?

I think it's been kicked around here a bit as to the status of gardner? and it sound's like to me as well as what was said in the post that gardner may be on his way out, and gibb's apparently likes MCant's a lot, it would be nice if we could package up gardner and a pick next year and jump back into the first rd. maybe the skin's are thinking along the lines of a lot of us, If you can't make up your mind between taylor or winslow, then don't, get them both, or we may use it on a D-lineman, interesting stuff, I wonder if marty is interested in gardner? he did draft him, and he had pretty good success his rookie year under marty.

Looks like the fifth rounder is a 2005 pick. I like that. If we can trade Trotter for a fourth or fifth round pick, we might just have a real draft on our hands.

We have to trade Rod Gardner now. I wonder if we could get a 2nd or 3rd for him.

The devil called me, he said everything's freezing over down there

 This news caught me a bit off guard and I couldn't understand what logic could be behind it at first, but I guess it seems that since Gibbs places a high value on special teams that he wants to get a talented kick/punt returner (maybe he say something he didn't like at training camp). Thrash is a decent receiver and this could fuel some more trade rumors about Rod Gardner, but I guess we'll have to see about that.
By the way, do you think that this will be the end of Chad Morton's career as a Redskin?

No ... Morton is a real talent who can be a great return man again in the right system. Gibbs likes depth at key positions. Morton and Thrash give him that. You're right though ... I think this is a special teams move more than anything else.

This is probably one of the dumbest moves I have ever seen. It is cleary evident now that Joe Gibbs has no idea what he's doing in terms for building a team. I said it before and I'll say it again WE NEED A GM. Here we go again pissing away all are draft picks. James Trash, aren't we already loaded at reciever. Yes. And can't we draft a guy who is solid on special teams. Yes. I would never questions Gibb's ability to coach. He is the best of all time. But this is just dumb. And we know Synder can't say no to Gibbs.

I think there is too much invested financially in Morton to put an end to his Redskin career. And if, in fact, Thrash is coming here to solidify our special teams how must that make him feel. One minute he's getting a fat contract to be McNabb's top receiver the next he's signaling for fair catches from Jeff Feagle punts

next thing you know we'll be hearing the Skins have sent a 2007 6th rounder to Miami for Derrius Thompson

The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that the deal won't be final until 4 PM Tuesday because the Redskins need time to clear some cap space to accommodate Thrash. I wonder who's going to be cut ... maybe Larry Moore?

You never know man...one of our WR might not be happy and wants a trade or McCants deal isn't a done deal. My guess is they have a plan albeit a twisted plan.

I appreciate your willingness to go against the flow of popular opinion ... but I think you're wrong. What may seem dumb to someone who isn't anywhere the nerve center of Redskins Park doesn't seem that dumb to someone who's in the middle building a team, someone using a tried-and-true blueprint for success. This move addresses special teams -- Gibbs' baby -- more than anything else. There will be more trades to come, rest assured.

So far this offseason we've added Portis, Brunnell, Griffin, etc., all of whom fill a critical role in Gibbs' system. I'd say he knows what he's doing.
