Re: Redskins vs. Squealers Gameday Thread

My realist, sober, side of me says that this is one of those hard fought losses where the 'skins actually dominate for most of the game, but the Steelers find a way to pull it out in the end. So as a fan, you're left trying to decide if the team really has turned the corner or not. You feel OK, but yet you're left bitter from the outcome.

My kool-aid drinking side of me, (with a shot of tequila), says the Redskins shock everybody by dominating from start to finish, which propels them with wins over the Cowboys and Eagles, and makes the Browns wish they were never in the NFL, to go 4-0. I like this side of me much better.

I feel that way too, I think a lot of us do. I predicted the Steelers to win but as we get closer, I think the skins win.

Our secondary could be lock down. Norman is a top no. 1 corner, Bree is a top no. 2 corner. The only question is how well will Hall and Bruton play on the back end.

Steelers are limping into this.

Bell - suspended
Dupree - IR
Wheaton - out
Nix (ST star) - out

^^ Those are important pieces.

I think if anything we'll put up the points. Now will be able to stop them? If we let what is essentially two players (Ben/Brown) beat us, then we deserve to lose.

I don't think we can run on them, but hell, we can't run on anybody and we still pass for a billion yards. I do worry about Cousins accuracy under pressure. It was bad last year.

Re: Redskins vs. Squealers Gameday Thread

JUst like every year, I can't believe it's opening night!

Gonna go cold hard sober: tough team to open against (price of having a good season last year, I guess). If we can't get to Big Ben (and I don't think we will out of our base D without the blitz) and they can run on us (not unlikely), it will be hard to stop their O. We may keep pace with them for a while, but our lack of a serious run game will hurt. If we get some TOs from our secondary, we may pull it out, but if not, I think Pitt wins without too much sweat.

For all that, I think what really matters this year is improvement, stability, and the continued rise of Cousins. Beat the weak ass NFC east guys and I'll be happy. 8-8 and another McLovin draft or two. We're not yet the team we will be, especially in our D front 7 and our o-line. But we're moving in the right direction.

I fully expect to win this game. Steelers are good but so are we, and we're full strength.

Cred was always a man of common sense.

Im getting really pumped up. I got like an adrenaline jelly feeling going in my arms. Thinking of ways to sneak out of work early but I know we are under staffed so I cant. I dont remember feeling this way before an opening game but i guess having all sunday and monday to stew gets your body worked up.

Our only other MNF is week 16 against the panthers.

Re: Redskins vs. Squealers Gameday Thread

Tonight's the night boys, we've all been waiting since the Packers game for this night, and it's time to show the NFL the super skins are back. Everything is lining up in our favor tonight, Matt Jones and Josh Doctson are gonna play, Marcus Wheaton and Ladarius Green out for the steelers, the city is rallying around this team and I know its gonna be a great year.

I predict a dominant and shocking performance from both Captain Kirk and our defense. 31-14 Redskins and we start to see a Redskins culture the city hasn't seen for years. Us die hards have been with the team for the long haul, which will only make this season that much better. Watch out Pittsburgh.

If we win, it will be announced through all the media world that it was only because the Steelers were missing so many bodies (which may be true), if we lose the media will brand it proof we can't beat a winning team.

Might as well go beat the living daylights out of them!!!
