The red zone offense is bad..... no running game (1.2 ypc) .... a first down fade to Desean Jackson vs Peterson ???????

Re: Cards vs Skins Postgame Freakout

McVay is a great coordinator, but until he gets our 6'2 wideout with jump ball skills healthy he needs to eliminate the fade from the playbook. Jesus f he calls that play at the worst times.

As for scapegoats, I'm going with Trent Williams. I know Lauvao sucked ass today but I feel like T.Will's absence puts a lot of pressure on Lauvao and he looks worse when he doesn't have a guy like T.Will covering his ass. Nsekhe holds his own but I feel like these last 4 weeks have put a harsh spotlight on Lauvao and how bad he is, but we don't notice it as much when T.Will is balling out next to him. Honestly I'm just really disappointed in Trent, gd I am a firm believer in the healing powers of weed as compared to Vicodin/etc. but as a team captain he has to know how valuable he is to the team. After Long and Nsekhe went down they teed off on us, and if T.Will had been here I feel like we would've had a better shot at winning. Honestly I'm pretty glad Trent is back next week but I don't trust him as much anymore, you have to be smart on and off the field these days.

Re: Cards vs Skins Postgame Freakout

I was so demoralized after this loss. Honestly, I was in a better mood after the loss on Thanksgiving day than I was after this loss. The Redskins really needed this game, because things are so tight in the NFC, that I'm not sure if 10 wins will get you in. I really look at the rest of this season as every game is, without a doubt, a must win game. I don't think 9 wins gets the Redskins in this year, and you can't count on other teams helping you.

Yesterday's game was a big example of how much we need Jordan Reed, a healthy offensive line, and a better defense. That one play our left tackle goes out, and Cousins gets the ball stripped. Vernon Davis has helped us out this year, but when it comes down to needing a playmaker in these late season games, you need Jordan Reed.

Re: Cards vs Skins Postgame Freakout

That one bull rush that Campbell did to Lauvao was embarrassing. I also said it a billion times in the game-day thread, but for fuck's sake, the third down defense made the game almost unwatchable. Out of all the bad shit the Skins do, it's when they consistently give up third down, it makes my blood boil. Even when it was third and FOREVER, I was confident they would get it. Defense actually played well the first two downs.

TWO things that are glaring weakness..#1 REDZONE OFFENSE #2 3RD DOWN DEFENSE ..nothing less nothing more! with the talent on offense this really is more on coaches..the D really is a lack of talent so that is on Scott to get us help. Truth is with these 2 major weakness even if we get to the playoffs we won't win..we have the worst 3rd down D in league! THE WORST! This team making the playoffs would be like showing off your new tricked out car in front of your friends only to have it quit running and you have to pop the hood while your friends are laughing at you..that really is what we have in this team.

U can't rely on Reed though, I hate to say it but he's always hurt. He's an amazing player that when healthy is the best TE in football but he is made of glass. Every time I see him go down I feel like he's hurt. Tough mfer but still. Also we didn't have the best LT in football for 4 games. Remember when that happened and we all said if we go 2-2 without him we are ok? Well we did. Arizona is much better than record shows especially at home. They are loaded on both sides and it showed yesterday. Basically the last Qtr of the season is on us, we have 4 winnable games and if NY clinches the 5 seed they won't even care in week 17. I say we get in barely.

Why did Gruden kick a fg to go to 24-23? Did he think the D was actually going to stop their offense? That was dumb as hell.

It was actually the only call to be made IMO: after that they scored a TD, 31-23, so that fieldgoal gave us a chance to score a TD and go for 2, tie the game... But KC threw an INT under pressure.

How dumb does he look if he goes for it and we fail?... they would've scored a TD because as you pointed out our D was unable to stop them... 31 - 23 with 2 min to go is way better than 31-20 with 2 min to go...

Redskins' Jay Gruden blasts team after 'frustrating' loss to Cardinals

Jay Grudes rippin' this team a second asshole, I like it. Too sloppy yesterday, too many penalties, the bad start, the strip sack, d not getting off the field. Our next 3 are against bad teams right now, we have to take advantage.

I think it was like 4th and 9 and the way we were playing on offense, especially those last couple of drives, it didn't look like we would make it anyway. I would have probably preferred a punt here.

Re: Cards vs Skins Postgame Freakout

Positives:

-Fat Rob
-The O-line considering Long went down early. A part from Lauvao they all did a good job.
-Mason Foster. IMO the guy is quietly having a really good season. Made some plays against the run, always solid tackles, made a beautiful diving deflection on a pass play.
-Sua Cravens also made some great plays. Even when he was beaten on pass plays he was covering pretty good.
-Defense kept us until the 4th quarter.

Negatives:

-Defense getting picked apart in the 4th quarter.
-Safeties.
-Pre-snap penalties on offense (false starts, illegal shift...)
-Redzone offense
-Dropped passes in the first half.

-That holding call on Norman on 3rd down late in the 4th (before they scored their last TD) was a bad one.

Re: Cards vs Skins Postgame Freakout

The most frustrating thing about this team, I believe, is their inability to put together a complete game. Or even 3 solid quaters. We've seen it happen too many times this year, especially coming slow out the gate, looking flat and unfocused.
