Re: Raiders Skins POST GAME

Football is won at the line of scrimmage and we wasted fools in the trenches. Spencer Long out in front all night, Morgan Moses holding the DPOY mostly in check, Brandon Scherff mauling mo fos at the point of attack.

Jonathan Allen and Matt Ioannidis pushing the pocket. Kerrigan and Smith winning from the edge with power.

And away from the trenches, the secondary, good God the secondary. That's how you build a defensive identity: not on me, not on my side of the field, and if you come my way you're going to pay. DJ and Nicholson, with the punishment.

Hail to the big nuts Redskins!

My only negative is Perine. Still running way too tentative and the fumble is just inexcusable. Mack Brown deserves more carries.
I think the fumble was just a very good play by Oakland. But you are right in terms of his running, there were many holes that Perrine did not take advantage of last night (giggity).

I'd like to see a tandem of Kelly and Brown in first and second downs, with CT coming in for third downs.

The bigger fumble issue is Crowder, two muffed punts in three weeks? Ugh.

I got sexually excited watching DJ lay out Lynch.

Re: Raiders Skins POST GAME

Two weeks in a row now we have faced winning teams that are playing good football, and made them look mediocre to terrible. I knew the D would be better this year, and I knew the offense would eventually get things going, but they really turned things around quickly after that week 1 when we were, "staring down 0-4." For the first time with JG we are 2-1. That is really something to build off of. I thought that we matched up better against the Raiders than the Chiefs, so next week won't be easy, but I'll tell you what, if they play like they did last night then we will win the game. 3-1 would be really nice going into an early season bye, and if we pull it off I think we are going to the playoffs this year.

That catch by Doctson was incredible, he stole it and got some serious air.

Run the ball and stop the run...that's how you win football games. I've been calling for this for a long time and glad it's here.

Torrian Gray has this secondary playing the best I've every seen. Norman is shutdown. Fuller now is an asset in the nickle cb. Safety play looks great.

The only negative for me last night is the miffed punt by crowder. We can't have momentum changing plays like that...those type are killers.

I swear if the cowboys lose tonight...

0-11 on 3rd downs, straight up domination

Josh Norman rips Raiders receivers Cooper, Crabtree - NFL.com

Apparently Crabtree and cooper were talking a lot of shit before the game

Re: Raiders Skins POST GAME

The best part for me was I bet a Raiders fan friend of mine $50, straight up. And I next see him at a large social event here in Northern CA, at which time I will very ceremoniously pry the $ out of his hand.

Hard to fault Perine too much for the fumble, I think -- helmet hit the hand carrying the ball (and looked like it broke it). Also, let's not forget that the Redskins didn't exactly hide the fact that they were feeding him the ball up the gut, and that by the time Mack Brown got into the game, the Raiders D had been on the field for like 5 years. Don't get me wrong, I have always thought Brown has real upside potential, and I'd like to see him get some touches too.

How great was it to see Nicholson own it in the middle? Man -- what a pickup he was. The secondary was totally lights out. Can we clone Zach Brown? Honestly, I think with two of those guys, you probably only need a few more players. He is everywhere. They should extend his contract right now.

Our vertical game still needs a lot of help – Pryor just hasn't caught fire yet. The throw to Doctson was nice (and long overdue). But I am worried that opponents are going to now start spying Thompson and our TEs, leaving our WRs in single coverage, at least until we show that we can make them pay for it.

That was one of the most enjoyable Redskins games I can recall since perhaps Brunell torched the Cowpukes with two TDs int eh last 2 minutes to win 14-13. Actually, this was more satisfying as it was a total team stompage. I'd have to go back to the 1991 SB, I think, to remember a game that involved this kind of domination start to finish. it was frigging beautiful.

Now, let's see if we can replicate that next Monday. Show that this game was no fluke and that the Redskins are back. (Oh, and let's go Cardinals!)

I was thinking about that 2005 season today and made a similar comparison. Only I think last night's game was the best overall effort and domination by the Redskins in 4 quarters since the second game against the Cowboys that season.

Seriously. And that's the human element of the game. When the rest of the defense saw that it had to be so galvanizing. At that point I would have run through a wall.

That's Beast Mode, and DJ FLATTENED him. Reminiscent of Sean Taylor.

Defenses feed off of that.

I think Mack Brown should get more carries...love Perine and Kelly, but I want to see more here. I think Kelly leaves yards on the field and Perine fumbles are concerning. More
