Re: Derek Carr for Alex Smith
I could get behind the trade, if we have a collapse in the second half and we are 7-7 or something similar. I think Carr needs a change in scenery. He is 27 and two years from being considered a top 10 QB. Maybe three years, I do not remember.
Or send Colt and a draft pick. Let him ride the pine for a year to learn the system. I am sure the money would blow up the salary cap. |

Re: Derek Carr for Alex Smith
If we’re in the market to trade for anybody we best be looking at some ball catchers. Sanu or Golden Tate would not be bad not exactly sure what it would cost, but we could defiantly use somebody to step up and spark the passing game.

Re: Derek Carr for Alex Smith
How do you create a thread? I want to get in the running (I kid, I think).
I'll never create one on game day.

Re: Derek Carr for Alex Smith
I'm not even welcome around here and I have to ask why this thread was even started. Even still, has 2 pages to it.
6 games in and already kicking AS to the curb? Who is going to trade for his 4 year contract that the ink is still wet on? Carr signed a 5 year deal last summer worth over 125 million. When you trade for a player, you assume his current contract. No one works a new deal when they are less than one year into a new 5 year deal. You trade away AS you trade away his 2019 cap number which is $20.4 mill You get Carr you assume his cap hit in 2019 of 25M. Out of the frying pan and into the 'cap fire'. |

Re: Derek Carr for Alex Smith
Can we get a poll going? Is the OP between the ages of: 0-9, 10-14, 15-18, or 18+.
10-14 gets my vote.

Re: Derek Carr for Alex Smith
Smith is indeed the answer.....he manages the game....he doesn't turn the ball over in the red zone like Cousins did....before Jay Gruden was pass happy and look where that got us...Smith doesn't need to pass for a lot of yards.....especially when there's a strong running game that balances the offense out.
