You ain't kidding either Sunra, where you been? I was saying the same thing they would rather show a rain dealy in cleveland than live action for the skins, the no huddle from direct is lousy, last time I waste time trying to catch some skins action. |

Re: Ramsey and Brunell Trading Places???
Ramsey doesn't trust the offense yet IMO, it will take a little time of consistant line play before he relaxes, the good news is we didn't allow a sack against a very formidable defense, Ramsey will have plenty of time and plenty of reps from here on out to prepare for the opener.
As far as Brunell is concerned, an experienced veteran like Brunell should look good against a backup defense in the pre-season. Rock had a pretty good night catching the ball looked good coming out of the backfield. For anyone who didn't see the game I believe the NFL network will be replaying the whole game monday at 4:00pm if you have direct tv. |

He didn't put to much air under it, if you saw the pass it came off his hand like a wounded duck, the guy is still nervous back there, hopefully he will calm down as the protection progresses. |

Re: Ramsey and Brunell Trading Places???
Another thing I've noticed about Ramsey tonight was that he was trying to finess the ball instead of trying to zip it in there. I know Musgrave is trying to teach Ramsey how to put more "touch" on his throws, but when he was playing under Spurrier system, his long throws seemed perfectly fine. I'm not a big fan of Musgrave, he produced lowest scoring offense an a coordinator for the Jaguars last year, so how is he supposed to help our offense?

Re: Ramsey and Brunell Trading Places???
to answer the question of the thread. No, we need "consistency" blah blah blah, same old smae old. No way can i hope that brunnel starts, but remember Ramsey and Brunnel both played in the second and both played similar players, brunnel just did a hell of alot better. It wasn't that he had easier players to play against in the third, it was just that he was so cool under pressure. He did roll to the left again and again but hey when he did he actually made defenders miss, i love the screen when brunnel was running back about 15 yards and just made a nice touch pass and the player went for 15 yards, if anyone saw that or has it recorded, look at Portis, he comes running down the line like a 10 year old and starts jumping up and down and up and down. he wasn't even in the game but he was so exited, it was just cool.
I just hope that both brunnel and Ramsey do well and in that case even Campbell, better they do the better we are. Ramsey can do it, i just feel he can. Do any of you truly feel that if Ramsey doesn't preform early it will be the end for him in washington? no it just feels Ramsey is right. THE DIRTBAGS!!!!! OWNED. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS AND HAIL JOE BUGEL> WHAT THE HAIL I NEVER SAW THE GLORY DAYS BUT DAMN HE TURNED THAT SHEEEEET AROUND!!!!!! |

Re: Ramsey and Brunell Trading Places???
I'm going to chalk the tone of this thread up to not seeing Redskins football for eight months. Clearly the offense looked a little off, but it's the first preseason game! If we had looked great, it would mean precisely nothing. Should we be upset that Ramsey underthrew two balls? A little. Should we be planning the ascent of the third-stringer? Not really.

Of course, they didn't really try to run at all. Gibbs only called for a running play 19 times. That's definitely not a Gibbs offense, and is definitely not the kind of game he'll call in the regular season. Last night had extra emphasis on the pass because he wants to get that phase of the game in synch. Pass protection looked better. But remember, Ramsey and all the other QBs were forced into a lot of 2nd and longs and 3rd and longs because there was no running game. So the Panthers took away the deep passes in those situations. I agree that Ramsey looked a bit shaky on some of those throws and he needs to be better. But remember that Gibbs will emphasize a lot more runs in the regular season. Let's not judge the offense until we see Gibbs call a game the way he would in the regular season. |

Re: Ramsey and Brunell Trading Places???
remember how good danny wurffulle(sp) and the skins offense looked during that first pre-season game against the 49ers a few years ago? remember how bad danny and the skins offense sucked during the regular season?
pre-season games don't really mean a whole lot. sure i would have liked for ramsey to look a little better but it's still very early.
