Re: Pats should start Flutie
Obviously, I like Ramsey. He's a character guy with a solid work ethic. Moreover, he's got all the "tangibles" to make it in this league. What he needs to work on are the "intangibles."
The "intangibles" are developed through experience - something he hasn't been given yet. Ramsey has started 23 games. The other two first round QBs from 2002 have more experience (Harrington and Carr have both started over 43 games) and have worse stats than Ramsey. I would just like to see the Redskins front office and fans give Ramsey the same shot those other QBs have gotten. Do I think he'll be a Hall of Famer? No, I highly doubt it. But I think he's got what it takes to be a very successful QB. Troy Aikman talked about Ramsey last night during the Patriots-Saints game. Troy said he thinks Ramsey has what it takes to be a very good quarterback, but the constant turnover in D.C. has inhibited his growth. I agree. |

Re: Pats should start Flutie
I'm tired of defending Ramsey, but I'm more tired of people thinking that playing musical chairs at QB is a good thing.
We booed Brunell to the bench last year, and now we're doing the same thing to Ramsey in the preseason. I mean c'mon, it's really ridiculous. What happens if Brunell starts and has a bad game, hell just a bad series... do the boos cascade down from the stands and then Campbell gets a shot? Then what when the rookie inevitably struggles, back to Ramsey? I'm going to defer to this article all week, I think it really puts things in perspective. |

Brunell graduated to the pre-season and threw for less than 100 yards in 5 of 9 starts. Quote:
