Re: Any last minute free agent pickups?

Peerless is the perfect No. 2 receiver. As for Simon's payday, its too late in the game for a team to pony up a big deal without cutting a few of their players, I look for a 1 year deal as well. By the way, Im not saying we should sign either player, but if Warrick isn't signed soon, I think he's worth a shot, and we could cut our losses on Jacobs before he suffers another hangnail.

Koren Robinson?

The guy is a bust who can't stay away from the bottle.

No thanks.

Why are you so high on Warrick, a guy who's had more than his share of injury problems? He's had knee and leg problems the past couple of years.

Reid let him go because he felt he has good DTs already in Rayburn, Patterson, Grasmanis, and Hollis Thomas. If he brought Simon back he would have had to cut a pretty good DT just in the roster numbers game. But the move also gives them $15 million in cap room right now. Imagine that. They can give Brian Westbrook a $10 million bonus if they want, in the form of a roster bonus so the cap figure hits all this year. Then next year and beyond, Westbrook would count against the cap as if he were some rookie 5th rounder. I hate them so much, but they're the masters of smart cap management.
From what your saying he realy shot himself in the foot. He held out and gave the other players a chance to play and they knock him right out of a job and about 5 mil. LOL

Re: Any last minute free agent pickups?

I can definitely see us signing Peerless Price.. He's a HUGE upgrade from Thrash at the #3 receiver, that pushes Thrash to #4 where Dyson probably was and Dyson will be cut.. Price has a history with Gregg Williams from Buffalo where they wanted to keep him but couldn't afford him. He can play, he's just not a #1.. That WR rotation of Moss, Patten and Price all of the sudden is very potent... I hope the FO is going to jump all over that but I kind of doubt they will..

I don't want to see him end up in Philly because T.O. and Price is pretty lethal as well...

Im not "high on Warrick" for millions and millions of dollars. All Im saying is that this late in the preseason, if we can get him cheap, we might want to sign him. He has been fairly productive in the past, certainly more so than Taylor Jacobs. If he would sign for the vet. minimum, or close to the min. then he may be worth a look and we may want to send Mr. Jacobs out to Victoria Secret for a new set of panties.

I think we're good, at this point a new WR might not be useful for a while, the skins would have to check his conditioning, the QB wouldn't know the guy that well, etc.

I'd take price over warrick though, that's not very close.

He's definately been a bust in Atlanta, but I think Vick really hurt him. Vick never looks to his wideouts to throw the ball; he pretty much just runs the ball or passes to his TEs or RBs. I saw a lot of Falcons games last year where wideouts were open but Vick didn't pass the ball to them.

Re: Any last minute free agent pickups?

I like our d-line already, why bother adding another guy for just one year? As for Jacobs, it's hard to say. He's extremely talented, but he's also very brittle. I probably wouldn't bother looking for another receiver since we still have plenty of competition there.

That kills me how u guys write someone up so quick to be a washed up...

The guy has only been in the league 5years getting over 400 yards each year

While price has been in the league for 7, and guess what, they have very similar stats. Only difference is Koren has more size, Price has more speed. plus the past 2 years they have gotten the same amount of touchdowns. Koren will not be brought in here as a Number 1. We have a number 1, and a 2, he would have to work his way up like everyone else. As for the concentration issues, they may be not as bad as everyone thinks... All the recievers in seattle couldn't catch, even the greatest Jerry Rice dropped ball out there.

The drinking issues, it may not be as bad as the media made it out to be. I think he was a scapegoat. A couple of years ago Springs was "washed up" before he came to us. Koren is going to be the cheapest and most productive solution. justify to me why he wouldn't be.

I would be surprised if Philly didn't snatch up Price. As far as Warrick is concerned, word is the Pats are interested.

Re: Any last minute free agent pickups?

The problem with Koren Robinson is, well, he's a moron. That idiot showed up for his jail time DRUNK! So he knew when he was going to report to jail well in advance, and he still showed up drunk. That's just pathetic, ya can't teach basic intelligence. If we take a receiver cheap, Id stick with either Price or Warrick.

I said he was a bust, not washed up.

At this point in his career he is a bust, he's had one quality season out of 4, and for the most part he's been a big disappointment.

The guy is a mess off the field and in turn it's really hurt his game on the field.

If he can get cleaned up he's a talented guy, but he's got a lot to prove.

Personally I wouldn't waste my time with him.

price or warrick aren't going to be cheap, thats the problem. Koren will be. Darrell gardner was a beast for us and he has had plus continues to have personal problems. I still have not seen one reason on football field, not to sign Koren

Re: Any last minute free agent pickups?

I'll bet that either Price or Warrick, one of the two, will be signed for less than 2 mill.
