Re: Win Or Lose?

I just watched the postgame news conference from Coach Gibbs. Brunell will start next week, just wait. FUCK.

Re: Win Or Lose?

neck muscle injuries usually resurface with tenacity the day after and re-straining it would only delay his return. Gibbs said when asked that he would have to asess the injury situation before making a decision on the QB for dallas. I'm really pulling for ramsey, but either way, I think we can get it done.

I'm not too worried about the offense. The one pass from brunell in the endzone was just short, but cooley beat the coverage and had to adjust for the ball. The other was a horrible call where cooley was being bear hugged in the endzone and got penalized for breaking free and catching the ball. I don't mind a couple of mistakes by officials, but how many times do we get points called back for rediculous calls. Its hard enough to beat the other team, but I swear to god we have the best team in the league, because when we win, we have to beat ourselves and the refs.

I'd also take a win every time, maybe we can have the D score some time soon.

Re: Win Or Lose?

Let's say Ramsey's neck is stiff all week, Brunell SHOULD get the start at Dallas.

I'm not sure what you guys were watching, but that was a nasty clothesline and Ramsey's head bounced off the ground.

But the conspiracy theorists will insist this is Gibbs hating on Ramsey and putting his boy Brunell in there.

I'm hoping Ramsey will be healthy enough to start, but I wouldn't be surprised if he can't go. That wasn't your typical take a hard shot, shake it off and go back in.

If anyone has ever had your neck snapped in a car wreck you can relate just how painful that can be.

Sure Ramsey himself said he was ok, that's not surprising, we all know how tough he is. Gibbs said the Dr.'s had some doubts, Brunell was playing well so he left him in there.

When you have two quality QBs you can have that luxury, and we should be thankful for it.

Thats basically what I was trying to say with my post. Sometimes you'll feel better initially, but then in a day or two, you can't move. Why take a chance and hurt him anymore. We got the win.

Also, everyone is up in arms because of the gibbs press conference... and I don't really understand it. He did say that he would have to evaluate the injury situation on tuesday before he made a decision. To me, that sounds like as long as ramsey feels better, he'll go back in.

Re: Win Or Lose?

I suppose we should also perhaps consider that Gibbs is playing mindgames with Dallas. Not that the Cowboy have to gameplan all that differently for Brunell and Ramsey. But still, it could be that Gibbs is implying Brunell is the starter so that's what the Cowboys prepare for. Just a thought

Naw, not exactly.....those were his words, but definitely not his tone and body language. Yeah, he said we'll see how "everybody heals up and go from there"......but it was what he didn't say is what has everyone scratching their heads.

Re: Win Or Lose?

If we can cut down on turnovers and penelties we'd be just fine. I also am curious if we can punch it into the endzone. We really moved the ball well through the air. I also question how much of the playbook was saved for Dallas.

It was a bit worrysome how little pressure we got on that rookie QB.

Re: Win Or Lose?

Always, always, always go with the win. And having a serious D is a big deal--they've even improved, as they said they would, in forcing TOs.

Still, I can't be pleased with a team that doesn't score even ONE touchdown. Come on. There are no excuses here. Neither Ramsey nor Brunnell gots us in there. That's on Gibbs and his offensive staff. And if that isn't fixed, we're in trouble.

As for TOs, they'll kill ya every time. I haven't looked yet, but my guess is this week, as in every week, the TO ratio pretty well tracks who won the game. Only as great O or D can overcome that.

And we had some very costly penalties--and weird ones at that. Offensive PI??? Illegal chop bock ON THE KICKING TEAM??? Please stop.

Should Antonio Brown be on the field? I am not sure he should. That was a potential game-losing TO at the start of the 2nd half. He can't catch and now he can't return. WTF?

I'll take the win every time--but we need work. As an old soccer coach of mine us to say (and CRT knows what I'm talking about here )--Lose, analyze. Win, Criticize.

That's the way to get better. I know that this is what Gibbs does. So there's hope. And we're 1-0. And we didn't blow a home game to a (realtively) weak opponent. Given our tough early schedule, we needed this one.

I would bet Antonio is inactive for next weeks game and either Moss, Jacobs, or Thrash will take over the PR and KR duties.

well he did only get to see Ramsey play for about a quarter and a half with a badly over thrown int during that time. Ramsey needs to get his neck worked on all this week, but if it's still pretty sore or stiff, he can't be on the field and fuction at the level the team needs him to be. If I were Gibbs I would have atleast said something about the brutalness of the hit and lack of a call even though that might bring him a fine.
