Re: Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

I think Noble is a great guy, from what I hear anyway, but it might be time to move on. Besides Salave'a is a good compliment to Griffin.

We have Aki Jones on the PS, but I think he's a DE if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

Noble is finished. He hasn't played an entire season since we signed him. Let him go along with Hall and Jacobs. What's the use of holding on to guys that can't stay healthy? Especially when Noble isn't capable of playing against his old team.

Yeah, I think he's done. I don't even think IR is an option either. Hall....I'd wait till he comes back, I mean he's a helluva kicker when healthy.

I'm kinda on the fence with Jacobs though.

I'd like to see what we've got before giving someone else a free upgrade.

Re: Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

Noble is the kind of guy you have to root for. He's not all that big and he certainly isn't quick or fast. But he plays hard every snap of the ball and he has success because he works hard. He never gets beat for lack of trying.

Having said that, it is almost a miracle that he was able to play as much as he did last year after the injury he suffered two years ago. There was some talk that he might have to have an artificial knee inserted. OUCH !!

I hope he can come back from this one too, but one of these days, his legs are just going to give out on him.

Re: Noble Out 4-6 Weeks

Good post SC, I agree.

Sounds like Noble himself knows the end of his career is probably near for him.

Quote:
Noble, who is expected to miss four to six weeks, said he is focused on playing through a substantial degree of pain in the second half of this season, although he may have to think seriously about retirement after that. "I've done enough damage to that thing, and I'm only 31 years old," Noble said.

This is really sad to see because there is no doubt he will have a severely debilitated knee later in life that will barely function. I think he should really look at things and see if he playing one more year is worth it in the grand scheme of things. Big ups though big boy you always played hard, when you were really f$#$'d up.

I have always felt we should draft the most talented player first regardless of position but this is hard to pull in the league nowadays. I think this is a reasonable move but I don't know what we will get in the second round with the last pick overall after we win the SUPER BOWL....oh yeah!!! oh yeah!!!
