Re: Quarterback by comittee
Someone compared Patrick Ramsey to Kordell Stewart. Go read the archives of my website and you'll see that I don't think a whole lot of Kordell Stewart as a QB. However, he has been the QB on a team that made it to the Super Bowl [and lost] which is a level/stature that Patrick Ramsey can only dream about.
In terms of "accomplishments", Ramsey is nowhere near Kordell Stewart. In terms of potential [translation: hasn't accomplished anything yet] Ramsey can be the equal or better than any QB in history. Sadly, I have to inform all of you that he is not equal to or better than any QB in history. [sigh!]

Re: Quarterback by comittee
I think the Ramsey/Kordell Stewart comparison was a joke.

Re: Quarterback by comittee
I have had a week to calm down about us starting Brunell. I dont think it's the QB position where Gibbs has made an mistake. I think its our WR's we dont have a big possesion WR. We didnt grab Mike Williams in the draft i thought this was a mistake, but Rogers seems to a good CB. So i will not say it was a bad move yet. We traded Gardner a big WR he didnt want to be here to cant argue that move. So going into training camp we had McCants and Dyson as big WR. Released McCants and Dyson. So left with Moss(small) Patten(small) Trash(small) Jacobs(often injured) and brown(small). My point is if we run the ball alot and dont let the QB lose the game we better have a good kicker. ex. on a third and goal from the 5 lets say. we dont have a big WR to go to. Cooley is an option but D's are keying on him this year. So we need to Royal to step in the goaline situations or hope portis can pound it in. The goaline offense i think our big weakness on offense. I want TD's more often than FG's and i am sure most of skins fan do to.

We were just spoiled with Art Monk for all those years! The perfect possession receiver!

Re: Quarterback by comittee
i think he might be on to something. sure the defense would know when we'd be more inclined to pass and stuff; but we cud mix it up. like do a line change and swap the entire D for the entire O (maybe ST cud play QB!!!!!!). this would work in my opinion because then we could say we have a top 5 team on the field. maybe the talent will carry over. then we cud just use the offense team as backups for defense and cheerleaders and waterpeople. (this could maybe help save money on the expenses of the top revenue-producing franchise!) we could maybe win Super Bowl $$$ again!

What team did Kordell take to the Super Bowl? Kordell took the Steelers to the AFC Championship game and lost to NE the year NE won their 1st SB. If you are talking about the SB the Steelers lost To Dallas, then the Steeler QB was Neil O'Donnel. That said, Kordell has done more & won more as a QB than PR so I'd have to say Kordell was a better QB than PR. |
