I'd take that trade in a heartbeat shane. we could then trade down the chargers pick, possibly a couple times, and pick up new 2nd round picks and a new young QB to have Brunnel and Gibbs train. Or maybe just draft gallery and then also trade or keep the 1st round pick next year of San Diego and trotter or our own future picks to get another 1st rounder this year and take a lb to play the middle like vilma or a replacement for Ramsey. No matter what we should still select Taylor with our pick.

if we could get the numer one pick without getting rid of five they should trade it no matter what to accumulate a bunch of picks in the middle of the round. The only problem is if they give up Samules, because you create a hole then.

I obviously worship Ramsey, however I think that Rivers is going to be as good as Eli Manning. Rivers has Ramsey beat hands-down in terms of his accuracy and he isn't getting the attention he deserves because he has a funny, yet very effective, throwing style.

When you factor in the fact that trading Ramsey would bring us more picks, I say trade him if San Diego is willing to offer their #1 for Ramsey, Samuels, and Gardner.

Does it really surprise anyone to hear Ramsey's name come up again in trade rumors? The second you hear Chris Samuels' name (contract renegotiations/trade), Ramsey's is sure to follow since they have the same agent, Jimmy Sexton. I remember reading that when Brunell was signed, Sexton wanted a trade for Ramsey and was said to have "leverage" to get it done, since the Skins wanted to rework Samuels' contract.

Sexton/Samuels said no to reworking the deal, and now the Skins are very possibly considering trading away the "leverage" that Sexton had. If that does happen, Sexton's got nothing to bargain with and Ramsey's going nowhere.

It's interesting to watch different players with the same agents go through somewhat simlilar sets of circumstances, especially players on the same team.

Does anyone know if there is a comprehensive list online anywhere with players and their respective agents? Like with seemingly many of the Poston's representees (LaVar, Orlando Pace, Ty Law, Lawyer Milloy, etc etc etc) and their exploits, it's interesting to see who doesn't show up for camp or raises a stink over contracts and which agents they have.

Maybe owners should just start blackballing certain ones!

Ramsey, Samuels and Gardner for one pick... no way. The more I read all these scenerios where we keep giving away our the team sicker I get. Joe Gibbs wants a core group of Redskins and he isnt going to get it if he trades everyone that is a redskin.

Are you kidding me? Ramsey, Samuel's, and gardner for the #1 pick? why don't we throw in portis and smoot as well?

Only if we also send La Var, the #5 and Snyder's first born. (actually, that last one might not be a bad idea...)

We keep our #5 pick and get the #1 pick. We draft Gallery and possibly Winslow or Taylor.

That is a move I would make.
If this trade is on the board, then we should take it by all means. It would not only give us two first rounders the next two years, but it would absolutely validate the release of Schottenheimer from the team.

That article says we get San Diego's first this year and next, but it contradicts itself by saying we give them the 5 at one point.

Now, I'm not sure if I'm much for this trade. Samuels and Gardner I can live without, but I really think Ramsey has a future. Who's going to be our QB of the future? Breese? I don't think so. I guess with San Diegos pick next year we could pick the cream of the crop as far as QBs go, but I don't know. There are a ton of great QBs coming out this year.

Either way, I don't believe anything till draft day 8)

We have to remember, this is all speculation and rumors. Ramsey isnt going anywhere. I wouldnt be surprised to see Samuels go and I dont think it would be the worst thing in the world. Mainly because his career has been on the downslide the past couple of years (although that could have a lot to do with SS's faulty "blocking" schemes) and he'll have a HUGE impact in the team's salary cap the next couple of years. Gallery's contract would pale in comparison until the back end of the deal. All that said, I agree with most that say that defense is where we need the help -- dline and secondary. A pick up of Sean Taylor would suit me just fine...
