Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?

I live about an hour from philly and go to the skins game in Philly every year. Besides being called an a**hole every 2 minutes it hasn't been too bad. I went to a game in 2000 (when Irving Fryar passed out on our sidelines) and the Skins kicked a late field goal to win it. I guess I cheered a little to loud that day because some dude threw a cup of beer at me and had a few choice words for me. Thats the worst thats ever happened to me at a Philly game. There is security everywhere and they don't let it get to out of hand. If Dallas wins I wouldn't get to loud in the parking lot though........

That's pretty sad. I can understand giving opposing fans verbal abuse (not the ladies) but actual physical violence?

It's not English soccer.

My brother-in-law used to be the game statistician with the radio broadcast team (Sonny, Sam and Frank). He travelled all over the country with the team for about 3 years. He said, without a doubt, that the Philly fans were the worst, BY FAR.

He said he would never sit in the stands to watch the Skins while there- too dangerous.

And please, do not come to Fedex Field on December 18.

I can't believe that fans in Washington are classless as the Philly fans apparently are. You guys might hate Dallas but are you going to try and jump me in stands cause I cheer for Dallas?[

No, we just don't want any other fans in the stadium. It gets irritating when the fairweather fans that we do indeed have here, sell their tickets online to opposing fans. I went to the Steelers preseason game and I would say it was about 60-40 with Skins fans barely dominating the attendance.

I say to YOU to not attend the game, just as I say to the Skins fans who are selling their tickets to either use 'em or lose 'em and sell them to someone who would appreciate them.

Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?

Don't go to the Linc wearing opposing team's colors. Don't cheer for the Skins. I live here in the Philly area, and it's not a joke. You tend to read about it on a message board and think nah it can't possibly be that bad. It is.

There's a reason that they put a jail and a judge on site at the Vet. It's easily the drunkest crowd in the NFL. They all get bombed, and at that point they just don't give a flying F about anything. I was at a pre-season Eagles-Steelers game last year, and no lie I saw 5 fights in the stands.

If you go, just wear normal clothes and don't cheer. Just blend in. That said, it's probably more fun to just watch on TV so you can actually cheer for your squad.

I guess I was lucky...I went to a Skins - Eagles game two years ago at the Link and didnt get harrassed too badly...then again perhaps it was the tight redskins shirt showing off my cleavage that saved my ass I did hear lots of trash talk, saw a bunch of fights but nothing directed towards me. Just a little FYI tho...keep your trap shut! As much as I hate Dallas its not even close to how much I detest the Eagles and their fans.

Yeah, seriously the Eagles fans have started making them my most hated team.

They are fickle as shit and complete assholes. The thing is, they're proud of it.

Yes, one of the things they're proudest of is the fact that fans of other teams are afraid to come to the Linc. So we probably shouldn't be discussing this on message boards because when Eagle fans reads it all they'll do is smile to themselves and puff out their chests.

Then again, a lot of these Eagle fans don't even know what a computer is, so we're probably safe.

They're proud that their stadium is frequented by hooligans.

That's like being proud that your gang beat up another gang when they come onto rival turf.

Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?

I don't even care if they're reading it, and I'm going to call them out a little bit, as well as anyone, ANYWHERE who jumps someone.

Jumping people = pussy

Don't think that you're a bad ass because ten drunken people can jump on one person who probably wasn't looking for a fight in the first place.

Re: Safe to watch a game in Philly?

From what I heard, its not really the best place for an opposing guy to watch a football game. I think its absolutley ludacris too, and anyone who actually attacks people or beats people up for like a different football team, can pretty much go to hell. I dont care if its in FedEx, Linclon Finacial, the Black Hole, anywhere, its so bush league. But with that being said, spend the extra money and just go to DC that way you dont have to worry about it.

I second that. Also I'd like to nominate 'frontin' someone when they have a pack of homies with 'their back' is about as gay (South Park kind) as it gets.
