Re: MLB playoffs.
Damn gonna be a tough choice. Baseball should end just in time before MNF starts getting good. Great night for sports!

I can't wait for baseball to be over. The game just puts me to sleep.

Re: MLB playoffs.
My props to the Angels. They came through when they had to. I'm trying to get on my Yankee board, but the server is just jammed right now. This board lights up after a Skins lost, but the Yankees being eliminated in the 1st round will let's just say, really tax the board with a bunch of angry Yankee fans.
Ok, Skins you got 100% of my attention now. Glad to see I have a lot to look forward to this year. |

Re: MLB playoffs.
Thanks redrock-skins. That was a great series. It really could have gone either way. I give Joe Torre huge props for what he did with that team this year. Some one had to lose.
Now I just hope we can get a win in Chicago. Go ANGELS!!!!!!!!!

Re: MLB playoffs.
Hopefully, for your sake, the Angels won't follow their recent trend of losing series when they take game 1.

And what trend is that? We always lose game won. Last year we got swept by Boston. And in 2002 we lost game one to the Yankees,Twins,Giants and still won the hole thing. This is the first time since Scioscia became manager that we won game one. This might not be good. But I would be delighted to know what"recent" trend your referring to.

Re: MLB playoffs.
I saw on Sportscenter this morning that when the Angels LOSE game 1, they go on to win the series but when they WIN game 1, they go on to lose the series (it's happened twice). So what I meant was, since they won game 1 of this series, if history repeats itself, they'll lose the series. If I can find the stats they showed on sportscenter I'll post them.

Re: MLB playoffs.
Did the Angels get robbed last night, or what? Home plate ump made the wrong call, then did not clearly signal no catch. I'm surprised Josh Paul didn't get tossed, because I would have argued with the ump until I did.

Re: MLB playoffs.
I don't know. When I looked at the replay, it looked like the ball hit the dirt first which made the call correct but usually when the ump makes the gesture of punching the guy out, he's out. A totally screwed up play that cost the Angels the game and possibly the series.

Re: MLB playoffs.
I saw the replay a bunch of times this morning. From what I see, his mitt most certainly hits the dirt, but the ball is clearly in the pocket of his mitt. If it had hit the dirt first, he would have had to cover it up, or smother it.
