If Arrington is the face of this team it must be halloween because our record is horrible the last year and a half.

I say trade him and absorb his cap hit now, we can pick up an undrafted rookie to replace him, C.Clemons is basically doing that now.

no way we trade him.this league is all about playmaking, and lavar certainly has the ability to make plays.im not for sacrificing one position to upgrade another.i think we can upgrade our d line both thru the draft and via free agencyas far as the salary cap,i agree with the nba and the larry bird rule.being able to keep players together and having them count a max amount.it restricts movement alittle but can keep players like lavar with their orginal teams for their whole careers

Is that what the NBA does? I hate the NBA so I had no idea that there even was a "Larry Bird Rule". If that's what they do then the NFL definitely needs to think about that in the CBA.

I don't think that getting 1 premier lineman, and making our Linebacking unit weaker really gets us anywhere. If you take away a double team on lavar (which last week freed marshall and washington up to make some nice plays) and gain at a position which is less versatile, I think you actually take a step back.

Our offense needs more revamping than our D. Even if Brunell regains his form from earlier this year, he won't be playing for us several years down the road. We need a complimentary reciever, another tight end/h back, and our O line needs some help.

It is not possible with taking a major cap hit again like with Coles. That was a one time deal and shouldn't become the status quo.

We have traded away a lot of picks, we cant fix our d-line with this years draft, especially considering we need help at O-line depth, another WR, and maybe another corner

Re: Just a thought, but....do we consider trading LaVar?

The truth is guys Arrington used to be the face of the Redskins until Gibbs and Williams arrived. This is Joe Gibbs' team and Clinton Portis is the front leader as far as interviews and explaining the moral of the team. I don't recall Larry Micheals even asking Arrington about the sentiment of the team right now.

Well, I hate to see him go too. But, this is his fifth year and for the amount of money he is expected to make, I know we can get a number of key players and possibly a high draft pick for him and another player. I say trade him along with Ramsey to the Jets. We take John Abraham and Kevin Mawae. We cut Cory Raymer and make Rabach a 2# behind Mawae. I don't know what it is about the Jets, but their players seem to flourish when they play for us excluding (Coles).
Now I know this is reaching but Arrington will not end his career as a Redskin. So let's cut our losses while he's still fresh in the minds of teams in need of a LB.

lavar is not going anywhere unless he renegotiates his contract or something. he will stay here, and im glad that he will stay here. i agree with most of you and feel that strenthening one position while weakening another isnt very smart . Although lavars numbers arent huge this season, ever since he has become a starter he has made plays and has forced defenses to plan against him. hopefully he will come up big down the stretch .

Re: Just a thought, but....do we consider trading LaVar?

arrington is the most beloved player on the redskins. i was at the 49ers game when lavar was finally put in to play, the crowed stood and cheered as loud as i've ever heard. the front office would piss off alot of skins fans, including myself, if they traded lavar. plus lavar is the best linebacker on the skins, marcus being a close 2nd, it would hurt the defense to trade him. the skins defense needs some defensive ends, free agency and the draft will be crucial this off season.
