I wish we would have traded up and given a 2nd and trotter/betts or something of the sort for maybe Troupe or Watson. I think we could have easily gotten that.

One big question about draft picks is can you re-sign them when their rookie contracts are up? It may be a big problem for teams like the Lions in a few years when all those talented young players want the big bucks all at once.
I'm not saying that I don't want the picks, but I do think this is a big issue these days.

Cooley is also a good long snapper which I didn't know about him. That's a bonus.

And as a super added bonus, one of Chris Cooley's teammates at Utah State is none other than one of all of our favorite players...
ADE JIMOH!!!!! Can you spell W-I-N-N-E-R? I think you can!

I'm sure all this offseason Jimoh was in Gibbs' ear saying, "Cooley, Cooley"!

I really don't see the didier comparison, didier was a guy who could go long and he wasen't the great blocker, and he wasen't a strong TE, this kid is big and strong, and is not a guy your going to send long, and he is a real good blocker, he remind's me of Brent jones the old 9er's TE, at least from his body type when I watched him run after a catch.

Redskins web page says, "Cooley led the nation's tight ends in receptions and receiving yards in 2003."
Does that mean he had better stats than WinslowII during his senior year? This guys sounds like a good pick up. |

Mel Kiper also said that Cooley is a perfect fit for Martz and Gibbs' offenses. He said Cooley is one of the more intriguing/unknown players in the draft. I like the pickup.

Congrats Skin's fans on your pick of Chris Cooley. As a Utah State grad I have watched Cooley play. This guy catches everything, his body control is really amazing for his size. He was a one man highlight each time he stepped on the field in college.
The only negative in all this is that I'm an Eagles fan. This guy will be deadly in the red zone. USU players don't get a lot of national press and Cooley is really a steal. You won't be diappointed. |

Thanks for the info, usualum! Hope he turns out to be great.
Are you sure you're an Eagles fan? You sound intelligent!

Lol Dave, I think the intelligence lies in the fact that I don't live in Philly!

Thanks for the scouting report, Usualum. We should convert you. Quick, Matty, get your emergency Redskinism kit and meet me at the river. We're having a conversion!

I'm afraid your attempts of conversion will desperatly fail. But, I will assuredly be cheering for Cooley and the gang when going up against the Cowgirls!
