Fairley I suppose. If I were the Panthers I would take only Luck or a king's ransom in trade.

No surprise there. I mean lets look at the facts. Ingram plays a bruising style at a position that has a short lifespan, he's also accomplished everything you can at the Collegiate level, and with his draft status he's guaranteed to make enough money to finish school at a later date. Though ironically his major would seem to indicate that he's already planning on getting a job as an analyst after his football careers over.

I thought it was a pretty accurate assessment. His overall assessment that Shanahan couldn't make much progress & that he added to the drama at Redskin Park is spot on IMO. I'm not saying Shan. is to blame for all of it, but for various reasons McNabb & AH became the story of the team rather than its play on the field. Shan. does deserve some blame for that. The only thing I would've added is that in fairness to Shan. & Allen, changing this team is a big task & if nothing else this year proved that it couldn't be done quickly, but not due to lack of effort on thier part. They definitely set the tone & made some changes.

His point about things going downhill after the detroit game was pretty much on as well. And the 3-4 defense transition, but that's been obvious to all of us.

Yeah this wasn't terrible but if you read Mosley's NFC East Blog with any regularity you will find he is a MAJOR Cowboys homer and his material is 50-75% Cowboys stuff. Then he probably does Eagles second most, followed by the Redskins and a occasional piece on the Giants.

Almost always you will find his posts rehashings of other peoples articles that he just posts links to. He does not write his own stuff a whole lot. I just don't care for him at all. I think a chimpanzee could do about as good a job as him.

I love the fact people want to point fingers and place blame. Lets take a look at how the players felt in regards to how everything was handled....

Fredericksburg.com - A new tone--if not new results - page 1 FLS

Nice article.

Nice article.
Good quote that I think shines some new light:

"I wish I would have handled the one in Detroit a little bit differently," Shanahan admitted on Monday. "I should have been a little bit more honest than I was. Sometimes you do things to protect players and at the same time you're actually hurting them."

Assuming you were referring to my comments as one of the "people" that "want to point fingers and place blame" I think the article above doesn't change my statements much if at all. In fact Shan admits that he wished he'd handled the mcnabb situation better in the detroit game, so he's accepted some blame.

I also noted that he & Allen set a new tone & made some major changes, but there's only so much that could be done in one year. Just to be clear, I wasn't placing blame for the mcnabb & AH debacles on Shan, but it's clear from this article that Shan. is taking some blame himself. As a head coach he should.

Just to play devil's advocate, there are only a couple guys quoted in this story. While I believe the spirit of the article, there were times this season when the locker room seemed in disarray & the team performed as poorly as it had under Spurrier. Only in 2 games though.

Nice article.

Didn't the finger pointing start with Shanahan's directed at McNabb?
In fact your feel good article as well as the Washington Post article yesterday Washington Redskins offseason: Upgrading the offense after likely departure of Donovan McNabb
implied that it was mostly McNabb's fault. Kind of a convenient 'this is the major reason why we sucked this year' excuse.

I much prefer what classy Santana Moss said, :"I blame myself before I blame him (McNabb)," said wide receiver Santana Moss, who posted one of the best seasons of his career in 2010. "We all on this team together. Every individual guy should blame himself for what we went through this year. You can't just blame one person."
This should have come from Shanahan the leader of team and coach, not from the WR. Santana Moss is a classy player.
Shanahan shoulders very little of the percentage blame.

I think Shanny will look hard at Mallett...and then look elsewhere.

2011 NFL mock draft has four quarterbacks in top 10 - Andrew Perloff - SI.com

^Sports Illustrated has us picking Cam Newton....... IDK if you would consider Jake Plummer mobile?

Yes, especially early in his career Plummer was very mobile.

My 2 cents:
we won't draft Mallett because he doesn't have Shanny mobility
we won't draft Newton because he lacks a Shanny arm
