Culture is culture, if the coach sets the team up to lose, then the players will know that. You play to win the game. Anything else is just a dumb plan. Aaron Rodgers was a late 1st, Brady was a 6th. This is just a silly topic that gives fans with a mediocre team something else to complain that the team didn't do right.

Dumb Dumb Dumb.
Let me see, you kinda got it yes. See we fans who are thinking draft position are not asking anything more then for them (the team) to do what they've always done in the past. lose.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan who hates the team losing. Not just because I'm depressed but because this city always has a thick cloud over it after a loss.

Am I wrong to hope for a loss, yes. What I'd like to see is this team showing spunk and playing it's games close, showing it can or could win the games, the whole time giving the young guys playing time so they will be ready next year. If we were to win here and there and stay at 5,6, or 7th place in the draft, and do what? take a RT? CB? FS? WR?

If some of you are correct and only two QB's decide to come out then we might or might not get lucky with picking a decent QB. and we will be hard pressed to find a decent QB in the second round on, possible think of Dalton and their probably will be another Dalton entering the draft, but everyone here had him 4th round or beyond and not making it in the NFL.

If the other half of you fans are correct and all decide to come out then yes there will be some 4-5 decent QB's to chose from. Picking the right one for the system is the key. In either situation it's a matter of picking the right one for this scheme. Luck will be gone. No way the Colts give up their #1 pick in which they too desperatly need a QB cause their beloved Manning is on the down side. Their current #2 didn't turn out the way they expected and they had to look elsewhere. They are definitly taking a QB at #1. So out of the remaining which one fits the scheme best? I'm asking which one whether he plays in an NFL system or not which one fits the system best.

This is why I'd prefer we lose cause in the long run it's about how many remain that will be declaring and which ones fit this scheme and what are our chances of getting them.

That will help us draft at 3 at the highest, needless be that its a QB, OL, WR, etc. that we take.

And as for the whole "Should we loose out. No we shouldn't that's bad and dumb," argument, I'm split and see both sides of the argument. But the edge has to go to the 'lose out' fans.

This team isn't going anywhere, and winning now isn't going to make this team become even an 8-8 team next year. As they say "the nfl is a QB driven league." Theres only one position in the league which a team builds around and gameplans around; the QB. The better the QB, the better the team is. You draft the right QB, your team becomes better. You hit on the right QB, a lot of those positions with ? marks by them suddenly disappear, or become less important of a need.

A good amount of people believe the skins were 4-12 at best this year. I suggest you finish at that Redskins.

I still think we can grab a top 5 pick.. Our schedule is hard and I only see 1 maybe 2 more wins.. Carolina will win 2 more but JAX, MIN and CLE wont

Going 6-10 will easily boot us out of the top 5. We were 6-10 last year and we picked 10th.

Re: Redskins vs Seahawks Game Day Thread

I am pretty torn on the whole thing. I am happy that we won, but I see how we are hurting ourselves in terms of a draft position. There is something to be said about winning culture, etc. and losing on purpose really doesn't help either. There are many great franchises that continue to get great talent "despite" making it to the playoffs each year. Luck was always out of reach and if we want another QB I think we can always trade up.

I wouldn't have been horribly upset if we lost, however.

No.. Losing mentality is something Washington has had for to long.. I think that's why we always end up in close games, missed FG's, turnovers, blocked FG's, terrible kickoffs, etc etc etc.. Its burned into the soul of Washington that mediocre play for part of the game is okay..

We need to stop this crap right now.. Winning is all that matters in the NFL. If you are not winning it doesn't matter. What kind of evaluation as a team do you bring out if you can't win games? It doesn't matter how good you THINK someone is at a position and what you feel is solid on your team if they are not winning games.

Again, I still can't wrap my mind around people who want us to lose. If we lose. Fine. We lost. But throwing games for draft picks? I hope none of you guys ever played team sports/college/semi-pro.

If the Skins organization ever gets the point of where they're so desperate for draft picks and project players, they want their current players to be a bunch of quitters, please notify me so I can immediately leave the bandwagon.

This. Since when is it guaranteed that you are assured of a better player the higher you pick in the draft? Good teams use whatever picks they have, high or low, to pick impact players.

I don't see too many wins for the rest of the year. MIN probably. And we might steal another NFC East win.
