Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread

I liked Jenkins too. It got me thinking - After game 4, on 3rd and long: Rak, Kerrigan in a 4 pnt stance with Jenkins and Jackson standing up. Cofield and Bowen slide into the tackles.

The only thing given in that scenario is the inside rush. Bring four and drop Kerrigan and Rak into coverage. Bring 4 leaving Jenkins and Jackson in coverage. Bring 5 dropping one of the four in coverage. Bring all 6. If Jenkins keeps improving and can work on coverage and plays in space - that has the potential to be a scary nasty 3rd down package.

Really, outside of O-Line and ILB, you have to love the depth on this team.

I think the Redskins still have a lot of unanswered questions at safeties and DLine in terms of pass rush, but I agree with the other positions.

I was trying to find how many starters the Titans held out/were out due to injury. Remember that we had 6-8 day one starters sitting out. Our depth is really very good, and that will be critical as the season goes on.

Lance Lewis was everywhere it seemed.( only had one catch but still) Hopefully he continues to play good. I saw moss catch a slant, what a gamer, dude always plays No matter pre season or not. Love that dude

I almost included safety but think we will be okay there, not great but good enough a lot depends on Merriweather. If he comes in healthy, that makes a huge difference. If Merrieweather comes in healthy AND T.Jax comes back. Well, we're good to go.

As for the D-Line and pass rush, I am just not worried about it. Rak's back and that will be HUGE. Even if he doesn't get the sacks, his presence opens up soo much. Add in Kerrigan, Jackson and possibly Jenkins, we will consistently generate sacks with a 4 man rush.

Yeah, Moss is a baller. He's getting older, but he can still play.

Right now the guy I'm most concerned about is Brandon Meriweather. I hope he can come back healthy and play as well as he did at the start of last season(in the little bit he played). Just having him back would significantly improve the defense. And with the good things I'm hearing about Amerson, Minnifield, and Crawford, our secondary should be good to go.

Rak looked like he's worked on some new moves. Loved how he dipped and got low on his sack.

I'm not concerned about the d-line and the pass rush either. Let's not forget Cofield did not play yesterday, and I think the pass rush and definitely the run defense will improve when he plays.

Let's not get carried away.. Crawford's ceiling is probably a very good dime or nickel back, maybe a spot starter.. Minnifield could be a starter someday but his health will always be a concern.. Amerson has stud potential though..

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread

I wasn't happy with the RT or OL depth.

I was very happy with the LBs and DB depth... i think we'll see a bunch of rookie mistakes and some real potential this year in the secondary. next year though it could really pay off.

jarvis jenkins didn't do much of anything. he's looking like he's destined for a very ho-hum career.

how many CBs are we keeping? normally its 9-10 DBs (safety/CB), but i could see us keeping hall, wilson, crawford, amerson, biggers, and minnifield... wilson might be the first choice for a cut because his shoulder is still messed up and it's really affected his play.

if you keep 6 CBs, that means probably only 4 safeties. you'd have to think it's merriweather, doughty, rambo, and thomas at this point, with jackson holding a suspension exemption and not counting against the limit.

if anyone has a reasonable shot to make the roster it'd be the LBs, kimbrough or b. jenkins. outside of them, i don't think any of the long shots are likely to pan out.

oh, and so far so good on injuries... PLEASE let that continue.

the penalty issue really needs to get fixed though. that's something that DOES carry over from preseason.

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread

I was disappointed to see Keiland and Royster getting carries in the game. It makes me feel like the 2 drafted RB's may not see the field much or even make it to the 53. I am pumped for Helu to be the much needed recieving threat out of the backfield.
Fred looks good. When are we going to see Jordan?
LeRibeus better rebound.
Rocca could kick better.
Wtf do we need twitter idiots to interrupt watching games?!?!?
