I would trade that for what he have had over the last two decades.

I don't know, my heart would be full of holes from all the heartbreaks, just ask the Browns, Chargers and Chief fans.

Yep I'd rather be a winning "loser" than just a flat out loser like we have

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)

I personally voted for mike Shanahan. I didn't see a majority of people crapping on Shanny last year and saying he needed to go when we were winning the division. So many people's perceptions turn on a dime based on record. I think some of our coordinators need to go but keep Mike and see how we do next year.

I honestly believe if we would not have been screwed by the 16 mil cap hit which prevented us from filling in holes in the off season and Roberts injury which obviously hampered his play this year, we would be fighting for the division lead right now. I always have taken the Pat Kurwin approach to continuity and consistency with coaches. Everyone is always so eager to blow things up and find a new coach every 2nd or 3rd year. For what? So that we have another couple years for them to bring in the coaches and players he wants? So he can install a new system that means huge roster changed are needed to get the skills sets needed for that type of scheme?

I get sick and tired of hitting the repeat button with coaches on this team. Vinny is gone. We need stability not turnover on this team. We had built something good last year and I believe this year was a road bump, not last year being an aberration. Many of you don't like how Shanny operates. I get that. I don't like everything he does either. But the man has a pedigree as an established winning coach. You want a young inexperienced HC to come to this team and expect him to put the pieces together right away? I doubt it.

If Dan has really changed I think changes will be made to the coordinators, as stated previously by Kyle reportedly not coming back, but give Shanny another year. If we suck next year he will be gone. But I don't think we will. I think we will be right back in the hunt next year.

Do you give him an extension? Because if not it's pointless to bring him back and get rid of his staff

I think that is an important point people are forgetting. You can't just have him come back for a year. You have to give him an extension otherwise no good coordinator with any sense will want to come here and the players will see the writing on the wall.

So its either another coach, or Shanahan with an extension.

I would extend Shanahan, hire kubiak as OC, have cousins and rg3 compete in camp, start the winner and trade the other for as much as I could get.

More importantly, do we want a one year "lets give him another shot" coach to rebuild the roster?

The Redskins are going to have $40Mil to spend this offseason. I don't want a short term coach to sign players to long term contracts.

I've wanted Haslett gone maybe since year one of the Shanny regime. OTOH, I wanted Danny Smith gone too, and whether he's actually bad or not, letting him go didn't work out for us.

I hate to hear all these rumors about Kyle, I wouldn't let him go unless he really was a problem ego-wise. Our offense is pretty good when we have a healthy QB!

Pretty obvious to me a clean break is in order.

I just can't imagine Shanny coming back.

Too many bridges have already been torched.

You give him an extension if the team shows improvement. I understand the argument you don't want a coach who may not come back making big decisions with players who will have long lasting impacts on the team. That being said. Is that any different than the carousel of coaches that we went through during vinny's reign? Not really.

And maybe I'm not paying attention but exactly what bridges has Shanny burned? For all we know Shanny and Dan are on the same page with what we are doing. As far as I'm concerned, a majority of the issues with this team with Shanny are perpetrated by the media.

I just think the coordinators need to change bc they aren't being as effective as they need to be. Burn's unit is deplorable. I think Haslett needs to go but people wouldn't be complaining if we had had the 40 mil to put into the secondary.
