Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads

you might not be following the media but you did say you would follow our owner and i feel he has lead this franchise to where it is which is a cash cow. yes we were once a great franchise that was two decades ago are we gonna keep saying in another ten years, yeah we were a great franchise three decades ago, i hope not thats why i and alot of people decided to do something about it, all we can do is what we can and i am proud of what we have done. think of that what you will, but if you want to question me i will fire back, that's the way i am.
we will see what happens next year hopefully there will be change, and lots of it

CRedskinsRule you need to be calling BS on Snyder and f-ing horrible last 10 years running this organization. People are fed up. This just hasnt been "one bad year" this has been a steady decline since he took the reigns. Its really disgraceful, and nobody on here is a bandwagon fan...im saying we shouldnt support a Vinny/Snyder run FO anymore, its to that point. I think everything, the booing, this attempt, the National media criticism does impact Snyder if he a so-called die hard fan, it should. His image has deservingly taken a hit. And if the fans sit around and not say anything... fine, but I never see any problem with voicing displeasure at such obvious incompentences such his running of this once proud franchise.

That is what I was thinking when I was reading the posts critical of mlmdub130.
Not that I think mlmdub130 needs defending, but he is not the problem here. I am sure he would be a fan going to games if the team was even half way decent.
While I do not literally agree with certain ideas to get Snyder's attention, most notably a campaign to try get rid of him. But sometimes to get the attention of someone as insulated as Snyder has become, it takes some extreme/exaggerated verbiage, even though it is not the intended final goal. I am sure most of us (like me) do not want to see Snyder gone. I just want him to immediately fire Vinny and surrender all FO decisions to a highly qualified and brilliant football professional. That is all.
Ten years of the same BS enough.

Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads

email from my brother:

First and Foremost I wanted to thank everyone for their donations to the Sell OUR Team Danny Boy cause.

We currently have about 2 days left of the 30 day deadline. Although we weren’t able to get all the money we needed, we’ve managed to raise about 18% of our goal as well as gain significant media attention, which I believe is outstanding.

However, it does not look as though we are going to have enough money to buy metro bus ads.

I have taken the liberty of coming up with an alternative plan which we can afford:

Mobile sign ads.

James Goulden of DC Mobile Ads happens to be a lifelong Redskins fan who is onboard with the cause. He has given us a special price of five 8 hour sessions plus sign production for $1200. This would allow us to still give $160 to MDA.

What’s even better is that he will drive the sign wherever we like. This can include:

1. Danny Boy Snyder’s house
2. Vinny Cerrato’s house
3. Around Fedex Field during a Redskins game.
4. Verizon Center during Caps and Wizards games.

I’ve attached a picture of how the sign might look and you can check out Mobile Billboards In Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland for more information.

We did, however, promise metro bus ads, not mobile sign ads. Therefore, we are offering the option for anyone to withdraw their donation if they would like. Please let me know within the next 48 hours, by kickoff of the Redskins/Cowboys game (1:00pm) on 11/22, and I will promptly refund your donation. After that I will assume that you are on board with the cause.

Please feel free to write or call if you have any questions,

Regards,

Charles Tomasch

Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads

Obviously we are not going to be able to raise enough money for the bus ads; however, i think this is a great alternative and should also raise additional media attention.

This was sent out as a email blast to everyone that gave money but please pass this on to people you know of who dont check their email or friends that may have paid you in cash.

Thanks everyone for your support!

Wow,

I honestly was going to come in and say kind words. Really. As DRave repeatedly pointed out, you guys took initiative, tried to do something that you felt was worthy, and I believe you would look back on it as a memorable venture. I was. and I believe those things.

But now, it looks even more petty. mImpetert, will you consider changing the wording to something less offensive and more respectable. I had suggested something positive earlier in the thread and you said yeah that was good, but too bad everything is in place. Seems like if you can change the signage method, you could change the phrases used to something less childish and more thoughtful.

I agree. I like the idea but the message needs to change. It should deal more with the direction we want the team to take as opposed to a cheap shot at the owner. He won't sell the team so we should focus on what he could do to make the team better.

First please read the email posted above. If you had donated the 20 bucks like you promised (due to not reading the original ad, and falsely accusing us of hiding) which you then backed out on you would have the option to get your money back. Again please read things before making attacks on our integrity.

Okay the truck was driving around Landover yesterday. We on working on getting a schedule of events that the truck will target. I will let everyone know when its finalized.

Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - Kapipal

Also the back of the truck says "Fire Vinny" in the opposite color scheme. The sign also lights up so it should look really good at night.

It's too bad that you guys put all of that effort and money into a venture that has a complete fail message. I can't understand why you couldn't adopt a more constructive message.

Snyder has no reason to pay attention to that truck.
