Ah the NBA playoffs are upon us.
Where Taking Turns Happens Where If I don't retire for a while..... "....The guy drafted two spots ahead of me gets nothing" Happens Where a Struggling Franchise That's Never Won A Title Finally Wins One Happens Oh wait never mind Where "They won the year after that as well? Oh man...my bad" Happens Sorry Magic, didn't mean to bring up painful memories Where "No One Realizes I've Won 3 Times" Happens Where "Parity" Happens The NBA Playoffs...Where Predictable Happens

Step 1 completed.
Step 2, return to the Bullets. I just hope they do more than recolor the logo to RWB. This would look horrible: This would work better as the primary, even thought it looks like it'd fit the Mystics better:

Re: Washington Wizards 2010-2011 Ongoing Thread
Still as long as the dynasties are allowed to field teams with payrolls that are $30 million above the leagues "cap" the NBA will continue to be a joke. Sure Lakers-Celtics works out well for the Nationally Televised games but what about the 24 other teams that have little if any chance of competing for a championship year in and year out? The NBA is getting killed at the gate in small markets because fans don't feel like their teams have a chance.
In reality the Lakers and Celtics shouldn't even be smelling a championship. Kobe and Gasol go 5 for 20. Yet because of the ridiculous flexibility of the NBA cap the Lakers can still rely on Bynum, Odom, and Artest before having to worry about loosing to the Hornets. Remember the two years Kobe didn't have Gasol after Shaq left and his only low post player was a raw and developing Bynum? First year the Lakers didn't even make the playoffs. Then the next year they lost in the first round to the Suns, who if I remember correctly were under the damn cap. The Heat are also a joke. They shouldn't be able to sign Lebron, Wade, and Bosh and then have even remotely effective role players, but thanks to the NBA soft cap they were able to keep Hasleem as well as a bunch of other role players. The real contenders this year should be Chicago and Oklahoma City. And because of the number of players they have nearing contract years they should have to worry about keeping the team together. This league is a joke. Unlike the NFL I'm looking forward to a lockout because unlike the NFL the NBA needs a fundamental overhaul. The NFL on the other hand is working on "fixing a system" that brings in $9 billion a year and at the very least gives every team hope.

Right now the NBA is looking at five very possible first round sweeps. Five 4-0 series. The NHL even when teams get swept still have ridiculously close and tense first round games.

Re: Washington Wizards 2010-2011 Ongoing Thread
Hooray! 6th Pick! Maybe we can come away with a role player or a sixth man. Oh well next years class will be better () which ironically might not be to far off. In looking at the mock drafts I think I can remember 3 guys (Baylor PF, Sullinger, and one other guy) projected in the top 5 that decided to go back to school.
Glad Cleveland got the 1st and 4th pick but this might not have been the draft to get it. Irving just doesn't seem that special to me.

Re: Washington Wizards 2010-2011 Ongoing Thread
So I've got 2 questions:
1. Will the NBA fine T-Wolves GM David Kahn for his comments basically implying the system has been rigged the past two years 2. Should this lottery news apply to a current 2010-2011 thread, since that NBA season isn't over yet...or to a new thread since the Wizards' 2010-2011 season is over
