^I forgot about Leinart...that might not be a bad option for us at QB. I like Davin Joseph and Mankins at Guard. I prefer Jackson in your WRs...but the top 4 are all pretty close talent wise

Watching the (insert random sponsor) bowl and am NOT impressed by Locker at all. Heath Shuler 2.0, if not worse.

This is not a system specific list, and would be re-ordered for the Redskins purposes (which would obviously bump Grossman up a bit due to system familiarity).

These 6 are the best on the list that actually may hit the market..

Manning,Vick,VJAX aren't going anywhere. I also think we bring 89 back

Agree, not very accurate at all

God bless Lou Holtz but my god I can't understand the guy especially when he starts talking fast

Re: Who Will Be The Redskins 2011 Opening Day Starting QB?

The guy who would be really, really good here as quarterback is Carson Palmer.

With that said, you can't make the Bengals give him up for a really small pricetag. And it wouldn't make sense if they actually wanted to get return on their investment. But the Bengals are cheap, and if they actually do plan on drafting Ryan Mallett to jumpstart a rebuilding project, they'd essentially take little value to sell Palmer's contract. So you could get a very valuable QB for a fourth round pick, and in the process, help set the market for McNabb.

Alternatively, I think that Chad Henne could be a nice target in a McNabb deal. Miami gets McNabb. We get Henne and a sixth round draft choice. I don't think he'd be as good of an acquisition as Palmer. But better and cheaper than, say, Kyle Orton.

He's throwing passes out of bounds because none of his receivers can get open... He's doing a nice job managing the game. He reminds me of a tougher, less accurate Steve Young. I think he's going to be a good one. We'll be lucky if we have the opportunity to draft him, and if we do I'll be ecstatic.

Mallett cannot roll out like a Shanahan QB, I'd take Newton before him anyway.

Defensive back domination of his receivers is why his statlines against Nebraska have been so poor this year, but it's not an excuse for missing receiver windows by as much as he does. Locker struggles to command the football when he's not moving in the direction of his target.

I hear you, he's definitely not ready to start week one... But I think he will be a really good QB in the NFL. After Luck he's my next choice

Re: Who Will Be The Redskins 2011 Opening Day Starting QB?

According to my college passers spreadsheet....

For Mallett: Matt Ryan is pretty close, JaMarcus Russell is pretty close, Josh Freeman is probably the closest, Kyle Orton and Vince Young are in the neighborhood.

For Newton: Really close to Mark Sanchez, not close at all to anyone else.

For Ponder: Nearly identical to Jimmy Clausen, John Beck is close, Troy Smith is kinda close, Joe Flacco is kinda close, Brian Brohm is pretty close, Matt Leinart is close, as well as Kellen Clemens and Dan Orlovsky. Those comparable conjure up a lot of epic fails, but some successes and I'd take that over what I'm getting for Newton.

For Devlin: Not surprisingly, Joe Flacco. Dennis Dixon, Alex Smith, Aaron Rodgers, Sean Canfield.

For Locker: Jay Cutler is closest. Also close: Tarvaris Jackson, Tyler Thigpen, Matt Stafford. Andrew Walter and Derek Anderson also really close.

For Gabbert: Matt Moore is really close, JaMarcus Russell is close, Joe Flacco is close, Josh Freeman is pretty close, Vince Young is closest, Ryan Fitzpatrick is in the neighborhood. Tony Pike and Bill Stull are the most recent ones who are similar. Gabbert looks GREAT next year at this time if he stays in school. Then he looks like Sam Bradford.

For Foles: See Devlin. Numbers, despite differences in competition, are near identical.

For Kaepernick: Kevin Kolb, Brady Quinn, Chad Henne, Jay Cutler, Kyle Orton, Charlie Whitehurst.

All of these estimations are really premature.

This would be best case scenario outside of drafting Luck. Palmer has gotten a little of the Philly McNabb scapegoat treatment surprisingly outta cincy...I think there is going to be massive change up there in the offseason, Palmer coming to the Skins would be a dream

It hasn't been pretty, and I don't think he's executing it better than McNabb was, but I do think he's proving the point that McNabb was one of many problems with the offense. Quarterback needs to be fixed, and Grossman isn't really even a temporary solution.

It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Grossman started three or four games next year to ease in a rookie, but it would signify a roster that is still very weak on the offensive end. For all the problems the Redskins have been through, it's not a travesty that Rex is playing. I do get the feeling that some fans are seeing his performance as "something they could temporarily live with".

It's the worst level of QB play we will have seen since pre-Ramsey days, based on the last two games and Grossman's career to date. If it's about implementing "a system", then fine, but Grossman is rated 15th on my list of free agent quarterbacks next year...and only two of those players (Manning + Vick) will be unobtainable for the Redskins.
Have you been watching the games???You are smoking crack. Grossman hasn't looked bad... He threw for over 300 yards, and 4 touchdowns against the cowgirls. Not sure, but last time I checked that is pretty good quarterbacking.
