Why would you be happy? It's funny how long has played in IND and no backup QBs under Peyton Manning have been coveted. It's quite the opposite with Brady and Aaron Rodgers. Wonder why?

I think this has to do more about coaching, rather than the QB. Also, one of the failures of the Colts FO over the past couple of years is that they haven't improved their team much and depended on Manning to ALWAYS carry the team. Their defense didn't get any better and their offensive players basically were made better by Manning.

Probably because they haven't bothered putting anyone worthwhile behind him.

Curtis Painter?
Jim Sorgi?

C'mon.

While I believe that players often do not make coaches, there is a confounding variable with regards to Indy's backup QBs, which is the competence of the backup. Manning had talentless trash behind him.

because he is a smart qb, a student of the game, can read defenses well, and is young enough to closely relate to players

Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread

Let me put it like this. If my options are:

Luck

RG3

Manning + 2nd tier draft pick aka Tannehill, Cousins, etc.

orrrrrrr

2nd tier FA qb/2nd tier draft pick single or combo

Give me anything from the first tier above. Second tier = disappointing.

I agree. Which is much of the reason why I can't stand him. Last seasons, "this is our house" speech that NBC decided to televise was beyond obnoxious...

Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread

when i had to give the rah rahs on any team i played with, i was as cold as possible. i never said any of that lame jazz "protect our house" blah blah blah. i just expressed my feelings with few words. and in 6 years, my teams never lost a home game

Your speeches must have been the sole reason for that impressive win streak for sure!
