Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
That is something both him and Kerrigan needed to work on. I felt they both tried too hard to make it look like they were being held or would just use strength to try to beat their man. Hopefully they both take the next step and become a great tandem.

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
I wasn't happy with the RT or OL depth.
I was very happy with the LBs and DB depth... i think we'll see a bunch of rookie mistakes and some real potential this year in the secondary. next year though it could really pay off. jarvis jenkins didn't do much of anything. he's looking like he's destined for a very ho-hum career. how many CBs are we keeping? normally its 9-10 DBs (safety/CB), but i could see us keeping hall, wilson, crawford, amerson, biggers, and minnifield... wilson might be the first choice for a cut because his shoulder is still messed up and it's really affected his play. if you keep 6 CBs, that means probably only 4 safeties. you'd have to think it's merriweather, doughty, rambo, and thomas at this point, with jackson holding a suspension exemption and not counting against the limit. if anyone has a reasonable shot to make the roster it'd be the LBs, kimbrough or b. jenkins. outside of them, i don't think any of the long shots are likely to pan out. oh, and so far so good on injuries... PLEASE let that continue. |

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
the penalty issue really needs to get fixed though. that's something that DOES carry over from preseason.

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
I was disappointed to see Keiland and Royster getting carries in the game. It makes me feel like the 2 drafted RB's may not see the field much or even make it to the 53. I am pumped for Helu to be the much needed recieving threat out of the backfield.
Fred looks good. When are we going to see Jordan? LeRibeus better rebound. Rocca could kick better. Wtf do we need twitter idiots to interrupt watching games?!?!? |

Also, it is possible that none of these four players will make the final roster. the Skins might pick up another RB from somewhere else if one of these players doesn't stand out in the exhibition games.

Just read a good quote Rich Tandler: The Skins 3rd QB spot is not a developmental spot. The developmental QB's are in the 1st and 2nd spots.

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
I might be a little bias since I went to ECU with Lance but in my eyes Lance > Stallworth, Briscoe, and Hankerson. Hankerson just doesn't go up and get it enough for me and is not very good at all after the catch just doesn't make you ever say "wow" what play. I think Lance does all that.

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
Just watched on NFLN last evening. My thoughts:
*Helu looked incredible...healthy and explosive. *Royster better than expected. *Fred Davis is going to have a huge year. *Aldrick, you have to make those catches. *Keep Lance Lewis, cut the washed-up players like Stallworth and Henderson *I want to see Rambo hit someone. *Amerson, Minnifield, Crawford...looking good. *Do we keep Rex' experience and familiarity with Kyle over Pat White's ability to run the current offense as a slightly slower pace than RGIII? Tempting to keep White but I would still be more confident in Grossman than White to lead us to a win. How many team can actually say they still have a chance to win with their #3 QB? I think, with Rex we do. Of course, Bad Rex can show up at any time but with our running game, Rex only have to hand off and not screw spectacularly thing up otherwise.

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
For all the PW > RG(III)
Film Sessions: Pat White's Good (But Completely and Utterly Overrated) Preseason Game Film Sessions: Rex Grossman's Horrible Preseason Game Was Actually Pretty Decent Good analysis. Haters going to hate and some are always looking for the next best thing but, bottom line, PW has a pop-gun arm and stares down receivers. Nothing against the guy but, until he shows something different, he is not an NFL QB. PW is the next in the line preseason favorites preceded by Beck and Brennan. I rooted for Brennan and fell for the "Beck can start in the NFL" argument - I have learned my lesson. These guys are where they are b/c folks whose livelihood's depend on it don't trust them to be competent QB's. As a side note, given the lack of arm strength by Beck and White, who in Miami is rating QB talent to think that they warranted a 2nd round pick? You would think one of the questions would be - "Can he throw the ball 50 yards downfield" or "Can he make all the required throws including a deep ball and a 20 yard out with zip?". Passes neither fo these two can make. [Frankly, PW isn't even a CFL QB - they routinely need to throw the deep ball. Accuracy in the short field doesn't appear to be PW problem - throwing more than 15 yards and staring down receivers does.]

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
Also, watched the Hankerson play several times. I see how it could be seen that he was avoiding contact because he ducked his head prior the hit. On the other hand, he didn't go straight to the ground, try to juke out the way, or just completely give himself up. IMO, I still see a guy who, turned upfield after a catch and lowered his shoulder before being hit by two guys with just as much momentum as him. If he comes in high, he gets stood up, knocked back and possibly stripped of the ball. It was a bang-bang play and basic physics was working against him.
Could he have been more "instinctual" about where the markers and defenders were? Maybe. Also, I saw Shanny come over to him but nothing to indicate a tongue lashing. From what I saw, he could have said something like "Nice try" or "Next time try and turn it up quicker" or any number of similar statements. At the end of the day, I just think you may be reading too much into this one play and that it's one of those "reasonable people" can differ on.

For what it's worth, if you're battling to start/stay on a team/move up the depth chart, though, I think you probably need to make plays like that |

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
I think he made up for it with the leap for the TD. Can't question his effort on that one.
