Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
So what for style points. Grossman can't win and neither can Cousins. We play Clowney and Watts week 1. Cousins don't belong on the same field as those two athletes. Robert ran out of bounds, ain't that what y'all p*ssy ass fans want?

Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
We sure as hell don't want our QBs running OB and taking a 5 yard sack when just tossing the ball out of bounds would put the ball back at the original line of scrimmage! Pro Quarterbacking 101.

I would also say that I'm very concerned about Houston. How are we going to block Watt and Clowney? I really hope Gruden keeps in some blockers so we have some protection.

Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
RGIII had a dream 1st season till he got hurt, then he was rushed back and he hasn't been the same since. I would say it's a mental thing that he is afraid to get hurt again and needs to get over it. Right now Cousins is the better QB and gives the Redskins a better chance to win.

Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
I'm waiting to see this press conference with Rob. If he acts like I think he will, I'm on the Kirk train.
We all know Kirk is no world beater. The guy is middle of the road but can get the ball out quick and (usually) gets it to the right spots at the right time. This is a traditional, pocket passer led offense. Rob looks awful right now. He has no more time to get it together but we need to let him play out the year and see if it's even possible for him to be serviceable but as of this moment, he is just flat out terrible. That passing performance was unreal and with 3 corners out and against 2nd string on the last drive, inexcusable.

@RedskinsCult59
Whats worse; RG3's decision making or Ken Harvey's sideline reporting? Kids are brutal tonight...lol

Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
RG3 looked like crap...blame it on the line all you want...but a few completions would have backed them off.
In a pass offense, you pass first to back off the defense so you can run...but this assumes you can connect on some throws. On another note...it just could be that the coach wanted him to function as a traditional pocket passer to see where he is in his development. Obviously he has miles to go....but didn't you notice?...no screens?, no rollouts? No moving pocket? I sure hope that was by design..because we sure will need that + misdirection during the seaons. If this is true...that is fine...but it means the Skins have had very little practice at this. The Skins offense CAN NOT be a traditional smash mouth, pocket passing offense...it must involve a lot of motion and misdirection. We have learned we have a poor short yardage running power game...and poor pocket passing capability. Our oline is built to move around. We heard that we werent changing our run offense...well..I saw basics today. Bottom line, Skins offense doesn't do basics well enough...we dont have the talent to go toe to toe....therefore, we need to outscheme the defense and play to Roberts strengths...which will restrict his ability to develop as a pocket passer. Say what you want about Shanny Jr...but the guy got the most out of RG3 and Morris...he would kick butt with the new toys this year. I just haven't seen any innovation from our new coach yet...in fact...it seems far more basic. On another note...I love our front 7. But we need to watch the waver wire for punters and Oline. Wonder if we could get 2 #1's for Rg3? at this point...I may take it, hes shown no growth this offseason at all I'd be fine with a humble average QB that scores

He was under more pressure all night, but got the ball out quickly and took sacks when he had to. RG3 threw that embarrassing interception against 2nd stringers and with all the time in the world to throw. Missed Jordan Reed who couldn't have been more wide open.

Re: Ravens v. Redskins Gameday Thread
I know it's preseason, but that's what worries me. If you can't execute basic plays against vanilla defenses by the 3rd game, that bodes poorly for week one vs what I expect to be a nasty pass rush. I truly hope it's growing pains, but I'm less than confident right now. I hope I'm wrong.
That said, I've been impressed with the defense. They've played well, and Keenan Robinson, provided he stays healthy, may give us some athleticism and range at our MLB position we haven't had with Fletcher for a while. In good news, we get to use the 1st round pick we earn this season.
